Room for the two new puppies Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 122Nov 07, 2014 8:01 am OMG charlinic6, that's terrible, there's some wankers out there. Its scary as it seems to be really common. Surely it won't take Coral too long to replace doors, how's everything else looking? We finally got our approval from the Private Certifier it took almost 8 weeks, looks like our site start will be the 24th November, we have to build a retaining wall before they can start, my hubby has decided to do it himself(to save some $),but we have to speak to the site Superviser and arrange a meeting on site to find out exactly what they want,it's proving difficult to contact him,his name is Brad(Camden area) has anyone else had him? Please tell me that he's wonderful! I noticed a few things that are wrong with our final plans,(we only received them last night),please tell me that it's not to late to have them change. They have fibre cement over windows/doors,we upgrade to have brick and we deleted the BBQ in the outdoor kitchen and added Caesar stone and had the bench extended as we want a freestanding BBQ. I'll being ringing Coral today, lucky I have an early day at work. Good luck with everything Charli ,nice to hear you have your site start cubshome, any news from anyone else. Any advise on the retaining wall would be great,I'm worried that it may get damaged as building has started both sides of us. Julie Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 123Nov 07, 2014 8:10 am Thanks Julie, this has actually happened twice now once for the electric cables and now with the doors... But I think the doors was an inside job. Not just a random event like the electric cables was. Unfortunately I know how you feel with the mistakes in the plans we had the same thing happen to us and unfortunately we actually missed one of the mistakes and so that was an expense to us. But if you have it clearly stated in your tender letter they should be able to find it. And get used to having a hard time contacting your SS, I think its a common problem especially when they have so many houses on the go... We have had a hard time the whole way through with that. But on the plus side I actually had an apology from our SS the other day for all the communication breakdowns! (Which didn't make up for all the aggro caused by any means but it was it nice to finally hear an acknowledgement that our complaints have been justified!!) Hopefully though our doors don't take too long now... would still love to be in next weekend. Building a Modified Coral Daydream 28, first build, first home and land owners. OMG, that is such bad news, there are some real deadbeats out there aren't there. Few people putting up security cams in there builds lately to catch these scum, they are pretty easy and cheap to put in as a temporary measure, saw some pics the other day of paint being stolen and they got clear pics of their faces. Got me thinking after our stackers were stolen, seemed like a good idea. Hope you get it all fixed and get in soon. Got me thinking after our stackers were stolen, seemed like a good idea. They are a great idea, but for people like us the issue then becomes the getting the images off the site, because if you're only saving to SD cards inside the camera, they just steal the camera and all the evidence. The bigger companies that do this on their building sites, use 3g/4g data to get it 'back to base', so even if the camera gets stolen too, the images are already stored off-site for future use. But with both you and charli, which are both coral homes having doors 'walk' with nothing else stolen, it does seem too convenient to me. I do hope for both of you, they at least took a bit of care not to damage anything else when they stole your doors. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. I'm so sorry that happened to you. With you and jwbears' stackers they now have the complete set Julie, 8 weeks?!?!? I fear ours will take even longer. We're still waiting for the bank to give the go ahead first. This is dragging on FOREVER. We have to do a retaining wall too, but we're getting somebody to do it for us. I've been stalking the Oran Park thread (one of the closest estates to our older part of town) and we're going to try All Aspect Contracting. I've seen some pics of their work and it looks good. We'll probably get them to do our driveway and porch too. 24th of November is REALLY SOON Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: Coral Daydream- Modified Daydream28 -Acre Build in Bucca 128Nov 11, 2014 7:20 pm Hey Charli, did you get in your house yet, is everything ok with it? Check out our build - Daydream 30 at Logan Village - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73302 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13746 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1768 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17518 |
