Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 16, 2014 11:19 am I have been advised by my kitchen designer to have a darker colours kickboard. We have white cupboards, a light cream/white marble bench top with probably a grey splash back. We also have very light cream coloured tiles. He is all about 'contrast' I am unsure if this will work! Has anybody done this in their kitchen? Any photos that you can share would be appreciated. It is just too hard to picture in my head. Thanks Re: Kitchen Colours 3Jul 16, 2014 8:41 pm Silver looks very nice, especially with white. Wouldn't dark kickers make them a feature, which is what you don't want? I'm not sure I selected anything so they just put what they thought best I suppose. Our base cabinets are pearl grey and benchtops are moose. The kicker sits somewhere in the middle of those. It looks ok. It threw my choice of trims for the floating flooring out a bit (I had just assumed they would be the lighter colour) but thats not a big deal Re: Kitchen Colours 5Jul 17, 2014 11:16 pm We've got dark kickboards (Laminex Fossil). Our colour consultant suggested them on the basis that they'd "disappear" and not draw your eye, making it look a bit like they were floating. They've only gone in this week and while I'm really pleased with how they look against the dark tiles, I don't think I'd want them with pale floors. I'd be inclined to go for a colour that blends in better unless you want the kickboards to be a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34507 |
