If anyone wants to borrow a large selection of sample pots of different shades of Greys, just let me know as I have them all sitting here and save yourself a bunch of $s My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 43Aug 26, 2014 5:00 pm triggywiggy I Thought we should start a chat group for Burns Beach Newbies and future residents, to discuss all the wonderful things about Burns Beach that may not be strictly house building related, e.g schools, recreation and building restrictions. Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 46Sep 02, 2014 1:20 am Hi all, I'm new to homeone and planning to build in Burns Beach. My builder has come back with site costs increased by $11,000( originally quoted circa $16,000) was just wondering if these costs are "normal" for the burns beach area? Thanks Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 47Sep 02, 2014 2:02 am Scottsdale14 Hi all, I'm new to homeone and planning to build in Burns Beach. My builder has come back with site costs increased by $11,000( originally quoted circa $16,000) was just wondering if these costs are "normal" for the burns beach area? Thanks Hi Scottsdale, is that inclusive of stormwater connections or just for clearing of your block? Our site works were substantially less than that, if you PM me your details I can give you some more info on what we are paying... Thanks Are you building in one if the new releases, if so the builder is having you on, all the blocks are levelled compacted and ready to build, if it one of the old blocks in previous releases, it's probably been used a dumping ground and overgrown, I believe the clearing works on theses blocks can be quite substantial, still can't see it being $11k though. Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 50Sep 19, 2014 10:36 pm Thanks all for your responses. They said it was due to upgrades for coastal conditions like duplex coated lintels and sisalation under tiled roof . These were the big ones, coming in at over $4000 each. Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 51Sep 19, 2014 10:39 pm Hi Druid 1, we are building on one of the older releases, not too overgrown. Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 52Sep 19, 2014 11:00 pm Scottsdale14 Thanks all for your responses. They said it was due to upgrades for coastal conditions like duplex coated lintels and sisalation under tiled roof . These were the big ones, coming in at over $4000 each. We also got coastal conditions being within 1km of the beach, no where near your charges though, still think you being ripped off Burns Beach Community Chat Group 53Sep 20, 2014 10:04 am We also got the coastal provisional cost put in. With roof tiles you will find it will be more than colourbond as there is more too it. Our coastal zone requirements provisional cost was $2500. Ended up being about 1289$ or something like that... Site works came in at about 3700 we still got a provisional sum of $2500 for hard diggins... Plus some other stupid provisional sum of $850 or so for some footpath allowance, something to do with the shire supposedly.... I guess if you add them up as provisionals your probably not far off the 11k mark. I think the $3700 was about $4500 originally provisioned and the works came in cheaper. Have they said they are provisional sums or that is what you will pay..? Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 54Sep 20, 2014 10:35 am The cost were initially quoted as not included under provisional sums, then after site survey they put in the figures and aren't provisional. Thanks for all the comments will go back and ask about the charges. Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 55Sep 23, 2014 12:42 pm Hi all Burns Beach people. Just joined the forum. I am building with Ben Trager homes on McIntyre waiting for the upper floor slab to be poored and then carpentry starts. Building process so far has been good. The only shortfall is the Supervisor and communication with Trades but I will keep a watch on that and be a "squeaky wheel"! I am sure every time I check on progress the sky seems bluer, the air clearer can't wait to move in. Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 56Sep 23, 2014 6:20 pm Therobinsons - start a thread with your plans so us other BTH builders can have a squizzy Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Burns Beach Community Chat Group 57Sep 23, 2014 11:32 pm therobinsons Hi all Burns Beach people. OMG I have picked the same tiles for splashback and bench top. I have silk finish white cupboards and oyster linea for overhead cupboards and oven/microwave bank. We will be putting Marri flooring from entry through to kitchen, living, dining. I will post some pictures and plans when I work out how to do it.
