If there is, I reckon it would already have some great advice. If there isn't, have a look at the threads of people currently building with them. Re: Colour & electrical selection tips? 3Jul 12, 2014 8:06 am Do your research regarding pricing and have a reasonable budget. Are you building a single or double storey home? Some do not need extra $$ and stick to standard. Some allow $5K to $20K depending on single or double storey. Some spend over $150K in variations. It seems like nothing as been said but really it is all in your control on how much you want to spend. Good luck! It may be better to go see a sparky first and ask them what you should do, one thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to put some things in at build where it would be hard to change afterward. This means put things like junction boxes in on outside walls where you'd want outside lights, power, etc, run cables down walls and have them terminate on a junction box if you dont want to put wall switches in immediately. Ensure switches to turn on/off lighting is in place (think double switches to turn lights on at each end of a hallway) Also, think of things like data cables and tv points, also how you want to run cables from TV points to wherever you'll have your entertainment units, do you want to put conduit in walls to make things look neat or will you just dangle cables if the TV is wall mounted? Where will those speaker wires go if you want to put in a surround sound system? Pretty much, anything in walls that you might want to do, get it done at build, lighting and stuff in the roof you can do afterward. Also, read the "things you forget" thread as that has a whole bunch of advice on this sort of thing.
