Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 11, 2014 8:50 pm After having my heart set on a Carlisle home and being told they wouldn't build on my block, I was heartbroken! It took us a few weeks to get over it and get back on the horse so to speak. After speaking to many builders and none having what we wanted or for a price we wanted, we stumbled upon Long Island Homes and have a first draft done and an initial quote sorted. I'm finally starting to get my excitement back! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Finally ready to build! 17Aug 18, 2014 8:06 pm Oh how exciting!!! Love the facade. Are your bricks truffle? That's what we are going with. Fixed plans received today, a few minor changed to make before we sign off on them and have our colour appointment. Scared of the price to come but excited! Re: Finally ready to build! 18Aug 18, 2014 8:26 pm Yes the bricks are truffle with off white mortar, so happy we went with them! Yes I was too, but I just done as much research as possible and went $699 over budget but also had a little buffer so we didn't need to remove anything. Re: Finally ready to build! 20Sep 08, 2014 8:29 pm Finally, colours appointment on Wednesday! I'm wondering if we can set a new record for quickest appointment considering I've been researching for that long I know exactly what I want! A few things we need to change on the plan then contract signing. How is it that you change something, so they change it on your plan, then the next plan you get, or a few after, it's wrong again?! Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17199 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10261 |
