Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 41Jul 25, 2014 12:33 am Hope your prestart went well! If I had my time again I would spend the money on two 600 ovens rather then the 900 we got included in our build. Two 600's would be much more practical. Let the fun begin Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 42Jul 25, 2014 3:23 am kellydoug We did! I've always thought is was a mistake. Another win we had was moving the double sink from the kitchen to the scullery ( no charge).......and then adding a small under mount sink back into the kitchen bench (at my Mum's insistence). They never charged us for the undermount sink/plumbing /tap or anything. START THE CAR !!!! Oh my you lucky girl - we're charged $1025 for the single sink and plumbing after moving our double to the pantry - and that isn't even undermount! I love that Ikea ad Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 43Jul 25, 2014 3:29 am Hi Nish - I hope your prestart went well looking forward to hear all about it! I actually have that very same granite in my current kitchen, and it is paired with maple cabinets and it looks lovely I think. We bought the house with it like that so I can't claim to have paired it up, but I can imagine it would look really nice with any light wood/wood effect vineer/solid wood. I wish we could afford to add it to our future house with RedInk too! Tbh - whatever you choose to go with it, it is such a feature that you won't even notice the cabinets - what I really like about it is that you can't see minor dirt/crumbs etc - so you don't have to be OCD in keeping it spotless Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 44Jul 29, 2014 6:08 pm fmac Hope your prestart went well! Let the fun begin Thanks Fmac you have given me brilliant idea, we have asked Redink to give us quote for double 600 oven, still waiting, hopefully its not expensive... Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 45Jul 29, 2014 6:30 pm Thank you everyone... sorry for the late post, prestart is done, it was big DISAPPOINTMENT in the beginning but am glad its all sorted out. it took almost whole day as we were doing it for two houses (ours and Hubby's Brother we are both building similar house side by side) Six pages of costing and almost triple the budget for prestart!!!!! we are still waiting for some costings. some prices they have quoted are ridiculous whereas some are less than what we thought it would be. we have also made some last minute structural change, i will post our selection once i get some time. I love the red but I fear that it could date, or if you ever need to sell the house not all prospective buyers will like it. Have you considered a grey splash back or maybe even white? I'm just thinking that black on black would be too dark. Can't wait to follow your build Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68804 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jadeshereejust/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/jadeshereejust/ Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 49Jul 30, 2014 3:43 pm Hi Nish. I agree with Justy. The red splash back could date and is a strong statement, also the same as the counter could look quite dark and heavy. I would be tempted to go for a light grey, silver or white. My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 50Jul 30, 2014 4:07 pm I Like the matching splash back it looks really classy With the red I think your limiting your choices for interior colours down the track. you could always buy red appliances to bring in the colour Just my option, either way your kitchen will look beautiful! Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 54Aug 06, 2014 2:54 pm Just saw your update. Glad prestart done. Took us days to get full costings and over budget:( glad it's all getting sorted. I like the red personally, it's bold. If it dates or buyer doesn't like it, then it is changeable. Not totally permanent fixture. I wouldn't not buy a house if I didn't like splashback. But really up to you and want you want to look at every day Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 56Aug 07, 2014 6:46 pm ardie514 Just saw your update. Glad prestart done.
