Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 22Jul 12, 2014 11:16 pm Melsie68 fancy seeing you on here kellydoug lol oh if you put your taps underneath your cupboard and you are having a top loader make sure they drill hole up the top for hose so that hos for washing machine is high enough . but you can drill hole after.good points though kelly Hahaha, Hi Ms Melsie. We have a front loader, so all sorted. Just trying to pay it forward. Homeone has helped me so much, it's nice to be able to help other people. You've probably forgotten more than I will ever even know. Your thread has helped me heaps! Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 24Jul 15, 2014 5:12 pm kellydoug Hi Nich13, really love your selections. Will come together beautifully. Some little tips for your prestart : Washing machine taps into cupboard under sink....they are out of the way. PowerPoint in broom cupboard if you have a rechargeable vacuum. Same for PowerPoint in bathroom cupboards for charging toothbrushes/razors.....out of sight I will try to think of some more for you. Thanks Kellydoug. Points noted in RED ink!! Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 26Jul 15, 2014 5:27 pm ok guys, below are some of the question/suggestion/pricing i need from Redink family 1 - Can RI do soakwell for us? what do they charge? or its cheaper to do elsewhere? 2 - charges for upgrading cupboards to pot drawers 3 - charges for upgrading to limestone in drive-way 4 - charges for upgrading sliding doors in robes to one mirror and one white glass (not sure what they are called but have seen in many display homes) 5 - upgrading glass frame in shower to frosted glass i had many questions but thanks to this forum i got my answer to most of them. Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 27Jul 15, 2014 10:10 pm Nish13 ok guys, below are some of the question/suggestion/pricing i need from Redink family 1 - Can RI do soakwell for us? what do they charge? or its cheaper to do elsewhere? 2 - charges for upgrading cupboards to pot drawers 3 - charges for upgrading to limestone in drive-way 4 - charges for upgrading sliding doors in robes to one mirror and one white glass (not sure what they are called but have seen in many display homes) 5 - upgrading glass frame in shower to frosted glass i had many questions but thanks to this forum i got my answer to most of them. Hi Nish13, We found Redink to be quite expensive for soakwells, and saved about $1000.00 using a company called SoakwellsRus. Fantastic service and lovely guy. Cupboards to pot drawers $660 for a set of 3 I think if you change from paving to limestone or anything else it's better to just get your paving credited back and do whatever you want after handover. We didn't upgrade any sliders. We have translucent glass in all of our bathroom/toilet windows, and strangely were only charged $181 to upgrade. We also paid $181 for translucent glass in our front door. Keep your questions coming Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 28Jul 15, 2014 10:57 pm Nish13 ok guys, below are some of the question/suggestion/pricing i need from Redink family 1 - Can RI do soakwell for us? what do they charge? or its cheaper to do elsewhere? 2 - charges for upgrading cupboards to pot drawers 3 - charges for upgrading to limestone in drive-way 4 - charges for upgrading sliding doors in robes to one mirror and one white glass (not sure what they are called but have seen in many display homes) 5 - upgrading glass frame in shower to frosted glass i had many questions but thanks to this forum i got my answer to most of them. Hi Nish13- I would think they could put the power points somewhere else on the island. Maybe along the back side where it's formica and not stone? Can't blame you for not wanting a hole cut in those beautiful waterfall sides:) 1- RI is doing our soakwells. To be honest, when we signed up I didn't know what the heck a soakwell was and decided I'd better just let RI do it. In hindsight I guess I could have saved some cash, but my list of things needing to be done outside of RI is growing by the day so I'm ok with just having them handle all the siteworks stuff. Ours are $3650. 2- We were quoted $193 per pot drawer. You don't have to go by sets of 3 either. I thought that was the only option, but we're actually going with 2 deeper ones on either side of the stove like the Georgia display. I have some tall pots so thought this might be a better use of space for us. 3- We didn't actually ever really think about changing the driveway, didn't mind the standard pavers, but we looked at every possible alfresco surface option. If you know what limestone product you want have RI quote it and then compare to what you can get it done for outside RI. For example, we thought about a large format Austral stone paver for our alfresco. It's outside RI standard offerings but they actually gave us a pretty decent price to upgrade. In the end we decided we'd have it tiled so had them pour grano in lieu of pavers. But, the point of my long rambling story is that RI can get you pricing on whatever you want, may or may not be worthwhile having them do it The credit they give you isn't all that much for the standard pavers, but you'll just have to weigh it up. We took credit for the veranda paving since we're putting in decking. They also charge you to relocate the paving, which is really crappy if you ask me. 4- Not sure about the one side mirror and one side White Kote Glass (I didn't know what it was called either). It's that pretty green glassy looking stuff. We had them cost our laundry/linen sliding door and it was $387. Didn't end up going with it. 5- No idea, never even thought about it actually. Hmmm, why didn't I think of that Yep, the translucent glass in our front door is $181 per door. Let us know if you need info on anything else. I know how hard it is getting quotes for stuff with a little one in tow, so even if you have questions about non RI stuff don't hesitate to ask. I've done an obscene amount of research on this house Good luck! Hi chateau- yes, I assume it did include both doors. Good luck. Feel free to ask any other questions. I went to prestart with 4 pages of questions/things I wanted costings on Re: Our first home with REDINK - Prestart booked :) 31Jul 17, 2014 9:48 am Nish13 ardie514 Also power point on side of island. I put a powerpoint inside one of my island bench cupboards... that way you can't see it. It does mean that the cupboard door will be slightly ajar when using an appliance on the bench, but that will be no biggie... better than cutting into the stone. Very much worth it we thought. Bank of drawers in Ensuite $238.00 Sorry, we did 900mm oven You supply your letter box. I'm pretty sure you can supply your own appliances. We upgraded to 900mm Induction cooktop at a great price with Redink. We have regular dbl doors in Theatre. Yes, pot drawers are crazy expensive. We were originally going with 3 on each side, but ended up with 2. I actually kind of liked how it was as 2 on each side in the display as they were a bit deeper. Pot drawers are same price regardless of depth, so even a skinny one under the oven is still same price! 1) We didn't know about a door package, wasn't offered to us. Sounds like a good deal, esp since we have a lot of doors! We upgraded our front door to a double door and each one has a glass panel. That was about $1200, but cheaper than just upgrading to one wide door. Each interior door is about $75-95 each to upgrade depending which style you pick. 2) Bank of 3 drawers in ensuite was $388. Dividing the ensuite mirror into two mirrors and putting an open shelf in between was $395. 3) We got pricing on a bunch of different ovens. Some were 600mm, though pyrolitic. Despite the fact that most of the ovens we looked at changing to have a retail price below the standard Westinghouse one, they all came in more expensive. RI gets such a good deal on the standard 900mm since they buy so many. However, they'll price out anything for you so if you know what model you might want instead of the standard just bring the make and model to prestart and they'll cost it for you. You may be surprised and get a deal. 4) Yep, mailbox you're on your own. 5) I think you probably can supply your own cooktop, not sure. We're supplying a couple things. We went with the standard and just upgraded to the cast iron trivets. 6) I think you mean the pelmet sliding door right? With the track on the top and bottom, not the cavity slider. A pelmet slider is $642 (standard size door) and then any cost to upgrade the door like the other interior doors. FYI, RI was unable to find a pelmet sliding door with glass, but I did find them elsewhere if you're interested in glass. A pelmet door is apparently a different length than a standard door. Hope that all helps. Good luck! I've always thought is was a mistake. Another win we had was moving the double sink from the kitchen to the scullery ( no charge).......and then adding a small under mount sink back into the kitchen bench (at my Mum's insistence). They never charged us for the undermount sink/plumbing /tap or anything. START THE CAR !!!!
