Browse Forums Building A New House Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 22Oct 14, 2014 6:33 pm PanRaptor has written out instructions, hope she doesn't mind that I've copied and pasted for you. "First of all, check this thread; viewtopic.php?f=70&t=1272 But if you can't be bothered with that, here is what I do; Step 1 - Sign up to an image hosting website. I use photobucket. Step 2 - Uploads your photos in the same way as you would on facebook back in the day. Navigate to the photo on your computer and click upload! Step 3 - Copy/paste links. On photobucket these will be on the righthand side of your photo. Copy the [img] code to your clipboard, then paste into your homeone post. Ta-da! Photobucket has a smartphone App also, which can make the process super easy if the photos are on your phone. There's other ways too including taptalk, dropbox etc. " Good luck! Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 23Nov 25, 2014 10:27 pm Well thought i better put an update. Finally went to pre start last Friday. What a blast. I am so excited. had a budget for my upgrades and was only $94 over budget so got to have everything i wanted. Most expensive thing was the crossover $3600. Ridiculous and i only get back about $600 from shire. Changed my ensuite and got a bigger shower out of it and it only cost an extra $300. I am still in shock that i can have everything i wanted. Tine was so helpful. The interior Designer experience was fantastic. What a great service. Cannot wait for slab to go down now which is probably Feb 2015. Good times ahead. Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 24Nov 29, 2014 12:22 am That's great news andrea. We blew our prestart budget but happy with our choices. Yes I thought the interior design service was fabulous. I've even contacted ours to find out about cost to hire her again for help with paint, furniture, window treatments etc. Keep us posted as you progress. Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 25Feb 23, 2015 4:35 am HI Andreqbw - I'm so glad to hear your prestart experience went well. I also thoroughly enjoyed the design consult - it was lots of fun! Like ardie, we blew our budget by a country mile, and I hope we'll be happy with our choices too when we get to see them one day. How is your build going? Do you have your slab yet? Please post some pics for us to see Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 27Mar 25, 2015 11:04 pm Can someone please tell me how to put photos up on here for everyone to view. I am not sure how to do it. And sorry for not posting much on here or for not replying to anyone. We are having our slab laid this week (hopefully today) so we are bang on track with each other!! Will look forward to following your progress. Nikki x Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 29Mar 30, 2015 3:26 am Hi Andrea, - how exciting! Do you post from a pc or your phone? If from your phone them tapatalk is what people use to follow the forum and post pics. If from your pc, then you'll need to upload your picture somewhere online so you can get a permanent link to it - like image shack, photobucket - I use google's picasa thingy but I'm sure there are many other options. You want to get a URL ending in an image file format like .jpg. Once you've uploaded it and you have a link to the actual image, then go to 'full editor' at the bottom of the thread, then you'll see all sorts of editing tags you can use via buttons on the top. The 'URL' one will turn links into clickable ones, the 'Img' one will show the link between the tags as a picture in your post. So click on the img button, then paste the URL/link to your photo in the middle of the 2 tags that show up in your post. You can then click on preview to see whether it has worked or not, and once you're happy, click on submit. I hope that makes some sense, I've never been good at explaining things! I used to have a ready link to someone else explaining it but I can't find it Looking forward to seeing your plans, selections and SLAB! Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 30Mar 30, 2015 12:42 pm Hi Andrea, just saw your post, and YAY for your slab!!!! Yep, what MalSannie about pictures. I find the tapatalk app on my phone is the easiest thing, though my picture quality on my phone leaves a lot to be desired Hope everything flies from here on out for you. It's getting very exciting now! Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 31Mar 30, 2015 10:07 pm thank you Ardie and Malsannie. I will wait till the weekend and then try to upload a pic. Would like to put a pic up of my plans to see what everyone thinks. Look out for my pics soon. Well, my house is finally at lockup. Taking a long time to finish. Was initially told on signing that i would be in my house in August but that has past and i still don't had a move in date. Very disappointing as costing heaps in rent and mortgage now. Been happy with my build but not in the last few weeks. Firstly, very annoyed that the tradies keep leaving a door unlocked which means that anyone can get in. Has been good for me as i have been getting in and checking out all the work but would hate to think of someone else getting in and doing damage. I think there has been 4 occasions now that the door has been unlocked. Don't think the insurance company would be impressed with RedInk if they knew that. Another thing i am not happy about is a mistake that has been made with one of my kitchen cabinetry and i have been told that i signed for it so i would now have to pay $1200 to change it. The funny thing is that i did sign for it, but they have not done what i signed for. Not sure what to do to make them understand that:-( Very unfair as i believe it is the trade's and RedInk's responsibility but they believe they have done the right thing. Very very disappointing. Anyway, besides that i am excited and cannot wait to get in. Have already paid for my carpets, blinds and security screens to go in as soon as i move in, whenever that will be. Would still build with Redink as i do love the quality of the build. Cheers - later - Andrea Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 38Sep 02, 2015 11:47 pm Glad to hear you are at lockup Andreabw....oh yes...we need pics lol..... Our tiling is about to start. I too have had a couple of hiccups with RI. My advice is to stick to your guns and if necessary escalate things to management if you're not getting the outcomes. It's unnecessarily stressful but in my experience they come good in the end. Glad everything else is going well and that overall you're happy! Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 40Sep 05, 2015 8:14 pm Hi Andrea, we're more or less at the same stage too. And like Hootie would love to see some pics A quick update, we didn't have site start before Easter. Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8855 Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20182 |
