Browse Forums Building A New House Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 41Sep 05, 2015 9:51 pm Hi Guys - ok I went and looked at the house again today. Cannot believe that it was unlocked so was able to get in and have a good look around. the tiling is complete and the appliances go in next week. Will have to contact management as just gobsmacked at the carelessness of not locking the doors. My tiler has done an amazing job. My sculley is looking fantastic. Will try and figure out how to get the pics on her. Very exciting. Thanks for the replies xxx Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 42Sep 05, 2015 11:13 pm Ooo that sounds so exciting I can't wait for tiles to go in! And can't wait to see your pics either. Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 43Oct 06, 2015 9:16 pm hi Guys- quick question. I have been told maybe 4 weeks to pre handover so just wondering if anyone knows how long it could take from getting the driveway and alfresco paved to getting the keys. So need to move in as the new mortgage as well as the rent is killing me. Cheers Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 44Oct 06, 2015 10:13 pm Not sure if this will work but think i have finally figured out out to get my pics on here. Her goes: http://i430.photobucket.com/albums/qq30 ... 2y9dov.png This is supposed to be a pic of my plans. Let me know if it works and i will then load more:-) Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 45Oct 06, 2015 10:20 pm So i am almost finished. Pavers going down this week and then i think there is only clean up and then hopefully handover. Have everything else ready to go. Got a painter so that will be the first job when i get the keys, then the security doors (Clearshield - similar to Crimesafe but cheaper), Verticals, Carpets and looking for a tiler if anyone knows a good one. Cannot wait. It is going to be so beautiful and i did it all by myself. so happy Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 46Oct 07, 2015 2:10 am Hi Andrea - how exciting Your photo almost worked - I could follow the link! But if you wanted to embed the pic then in photobucket, to the right of the picture there are 4 options below the heading 'share this photo' each with a box with some 'code' next to them - Email & IM ; Direct ; HTML and IMG. If you click on 'IMG' it will turn the box to the right to yellow for a little while showing 'copied'. By clicking on IMG photobucket has copied the tags you need for the forum into your clipboard. So all you have to do is paste it into your post here - and it will magically appear in your post Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Your plan looks lovely I can't wait to see pictures - sorry I can't help with the handover/dates thing, I've been trying my best not to ask for dates as I don't want to be disappointed! Who will you get to do your security doors? Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 47Oct 11, 2015 10:56 pm Hi Malsannie, thanks for the tip on the picture. I did wonder if i had used the correct link:-) <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s430.photobucket.com/user/abcwilson123/embed/story"></iframe> Have followed your instructions so hope this now works. Just basically my colours. I need to upload a few more pics and will then put on the post. cheers andrea Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 51Oct 12, 2015 11:19 am Love the colour choices Andrea. Can't wait to see pics of them all done. You're getting close to the end now! Have you got a date for PCI? Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 55Oct 13, 2015 11:06 pm The red shelves were not supposed to be like that but they say i signed for them so would cost me $1200 to remove. I will be having red pendants hanging over the bench top and 4 red vertical strips in my blinds so the shelves may look good. I will see how it all looks after everything is completed. Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 56Oct 14, 2015 6:27 am Wow Andrea what an amazing kitchen! It looks lovey I'm very jealous of the high oven and the u shape - not to mention the window splashback. And I really like the walk in shower too. No wonder you're so excited to move in I would be too! How strange that they say you'd signed for a colour you don't remember - and even more strange that they'd charge you that much money to change it. I agree it is the best idea to wait and see before making a decision. The builders add such a margin it should be criminal. Fingers crossed for a PCI date soon Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 57Oct 14, 2015 10:53 am For what it's worth I quite like the red!! I think by the time you add in a couple more pops of it, it will look quite funky. Love the shower too! Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 58Oct 15, 2015 12:11 am Thanks guys for the comments. Yes i am very excited. I have been booked in for Pre handover on the 28th Oct. Just contracted a Building inspection for a Practical Completion Inspection Report. Will be worth the $440 as the house is the biggest investment i have so want to make sure it is all finished off correctly before handing over the last payment and receiving the keys. Will let you know how it goes. Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 59Oct 20, 2015 4:44 am I'm in total agreement - we will also have an inspector for PCI Re: RedInk Home SOR first time building on my own 60Oct 29, 2015 11:47 pm Whoo hoo - Had my PCI yesterday and it went really well. Only a page and a half of minor things to be fixed. Had a building inspector do my PCI for me. Was so worth the $440 as he picked up things i would never have picked up. He went into the roof space and picked up something that the builder did not do. He turned the water on in the ensuite shower and found a leak. I would not have thought to turn on the gas, lights, water etc. None of my windows had the little lock bit in the window (so the window can be cracked and security locked). The locks were there but not the stops so the windows all opened fully. I would not have thought to check that. Now hopefully it will only take 10 working days and should get keys in two weeks. Cannot wait. So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27363 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8933 Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20354 |
