Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 07, 2014 12:29 pm I am thinking to build split level house. I have slope of 3m in 4m distance and has 10mx28m flat area. I am thinking to build full split level with guest room and garage downstairs and rest of the rooms kitchech and living rooms upstairs. So from the front it looks double storey. It will be roughly 23sqr. The retaining wall will be around 10-12m wide and 3m high. Can anyone tell me how much it will cost apart from normal cost of 23sqr. Re: Cost of retaining wall in Full split level 2Jul 07, 2014 2:31 pm If the ground is stable, i.e. shale or rock, then the least cost solution is not to use a retaining wall, but batter the slope back at the change of level. If you have done a soil test, your civil engineer should be able to advise what the maximum angle of the cut can be. Another option may be to have say a 1 meter high retaining wall and then batter back from this point. The cut and fill was used to make a flat area. the geotech report says the land is P classified but they did bore hole on the flat surface. The split level I am looking is like, double storey from the front and single from first level.
