I've just received email saying I need to pay first progress claim of $17k "deposit claim'. Yet no slab. Or does this happen in everyone's build? Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 43Apr 23, 2015 9:08 am Hi, yes we did work out what it was for; it was for our retaining walls/site works, we received another progress invoice after the slab was down for the slab. We've had bricks delivered to our site this week, so hopefully won't be long til we have walls. Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 44Apr 23, 2015 10:17 am Ok thanks. Also were u assigned a CL after that payment? Or already had one? Sorry for the Qs, just excited if something's actually happening. Haha Yay for the bricks arriving, thats a great progress. Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 45Apr 23, 2015 10:48 am Not too sure what a CL is sorry?? We had a provisional sum of about 25k for the site costs but after the titles came out and they did the site survey they said it was going to be like $44k so we had the extra put in to the mortgage during pre-start, so I think that's what that first progress payment may have been. Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 46Apr 23, 2015 12:27 pm Weird how every builder does it differently! CL = Client Liaison Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 47Apr 23, 2015 12:36 pm robarcher_83 Hi Bennycat, did u end up finding out why you had to pay first progress payment before slab? I've just received email saying I need to pay first progress claim of $17k "deposit claim'. Yet no slab. Or does this happen in everyone's build? Hi Robarcher, Steve is a broker and more often lately builders appear to be asking for a deposit progress payment whereas in the past this wasn't really the done thing.... Highbury asked us for a deposit repayment before slab too .... Hope this helps Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 48Apr 23, 2015 1:25 pm Sorry yeh CL - client liaison. Dunno the short terms haha. All new to it. Thanks Mandy+Steve, does help, makes more sense. Yeh every thread I read with the builders are all diff so gets confusing if I should be getting excited for a slab. Or not and wait another month for slab ;-/ Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 49Apr 23, 2015 7:37 pm Oh right, we haven't met with anyone since our prestart meeting. We've got to have a meeting before they start the brick laying I believe so I'm hoping to hear from them any day now.... Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 50Apr 24, 2015 4:50 pm Ah ok. Yeh I think the CL just emails. Well my builder said that a client liaison will contact me before site works commence. Maybe after I pay the claim deposit they'll contact me. Re: Helena Valley build with Homegroup WA 52May 23, 2015 11:59 am Yay for walls. It looks to be going really fast thanks guys! yes this is how I've exactly raised it with the builder. still awaiting response. 12 6036 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17581 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9565 |
