Browse Forums Building A New House Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 41Feb 24, 2015 6:57 pm Hi I have a slab, At last, took a lot of effort and an extra 10k because of the time from sign up to titles was over the 6 month price hold. They have also done all the down pipe connections for connection to the storm water, havent noticed anyone else's has been done yet Thought they would do that after the downpipes went on. lots of building work going on all at different stages. Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 42Feb 25, 2015 12:06 am Hi, just been reading your forum and I'm also building in Helena valley but I'm across the road at The Park. I've received a very high site work cost aswell. I didn't think that side would be as bad but my block was classed S and the cost came back at $43K. Was very shocked as I was quoted $25K. Everyone around me tho seem to be getting there's back at around $32K. So not too happy Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 43Feb 25, 2015 12:12 am Yep the site cost seemed to be a killer for most of us sites in helena valley views.are ranging from c1 to c9 I have heard but the developer wants nothing to do with it as S class covers c1-c9. Copper yes there is even someone moved in in stage 1 argh if only we had more then dirt to look at! And im just waiting for the day that we get an email from the developer to say we have to pay for the maintenance of "sand drift" Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 44Feb 25, 2015 1:18 am Hi everyone yes I got told 40k for site costs when I signed up now there saying around 27k just added 10k to the house price. Plus 2100 for the storm water connection. The sand drift is a problem. my rear neighbour has had the back fence put up to try and stop it and its already banking up at the fence. Stage 2 has got titles now havent they? I saw some blocks getting work done. Stage 3 cant be that far away. Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 45Apr 13, 2015 4:04 pm How is your build going copper? Yes stage 2 have had titles since late last year all going up very quickly now Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 46Apr 13, 2015 4:16 pm Hi Emmz41, I have some walls and a few window frames up, going very slowly compared to everyone around me. But everyone keeps telling me that it was the snail that won the race lol (but it doesn't help). How is your build coming along. Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 47Apr 13, 2015 4:20 pm With all this rain and up and down weather everything seems to be going very slow! at least you should have a roof on before it gets to winter and nothing happens. We got a slab about 2/3 weeks ago and now have window frames delivered and the down pipes done now waiting on our bricks to arrive (hopefully this week) Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 49Apr 13, 2015 4:47 pm a quality home is better then a quick one im sure I look forward to see how yours comes along Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 51Apr 13, 2015 5:57 pm all we have bought so far is a dining table but I keep looking for things, my partner keeps telling me we dont have room to keep them at our parents house but I will make room :') Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 52Apr 13, 2015 6:18 pm You sure can. I have bought 99% of my internal and external lights, plus bath mats, towels etc get them while they're on sale. 1 or 2 things a month and doesn't kill the budget and shop around bought some lights of ebay at 1/3 the price of beacon. A handy hint for lights if you find a really nice light shade you can use it as a light fitting, you can get an extension which just plugs into the light socket attaches to the light shade and you put in the globe.(no electrician needed) masters and bunnings sell them, but kmart sells them also for about $8 half the price. Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 53Apr 13, 2015 6:28 pm I have pretty much all of our kitchenware/linen minus electricals but furniture and white goods wise i am just keeping an eye out and trying to buy as we go but i know i will run out of time! I have been shopping around for lights i never knew lights were soooo expensive! wow that is a great idea i will keep that in mind. I try work one room at a time and find myself with 1000 different ideas for all over the house. Is this your first house? Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 54Apr 13, 2015 7:14 pm I know where your coming from. too many ideas and not enough time. I have a cork board so I stick my ideas on that, then remove them as I buy them or if I no longer like it I also take photos with phone so its got the price on it if is see something I like. check out ebay for lights I got 2 lights from a wholesaler brand new 1 was 25.00 and freedom sold same 1 for 220.00 also masters and ikea have some great lights as well. this will be my second house, not looking forward to packing and moving Re: HELENA VALLEY VIEWS - BUILDING A HOME 55Apr 13, 2015 10:15 pm If I didn't live between 2 houses a cork board would be a great idea I just try to save everything on my phone. Going to have a look on ebay now for some lights thanks guys! yes this is how I've exactly raised it with the builder. still awaiting response. 12 4839 We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
