Bet you can't wait to start seeing all you selections come together Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | WHITE SET! 42Mar 16, 2015 7:03 pm Alright alright. I finally have time to post an update. Popped in today to see the the white set basically completed. The plasterer looked to be sanding and finishing a few spots. It looks really nice and open in white (but hard to photograph for some reason). Does this look right to anyone? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The Games/Alfresco door looks about 10mm lower, which seems about right. I think they've ef'ed up, this doesn't look very 'recessed' to me. The only other issue is the height difference between us and the neighbour. We're supposed to be the same RL (to the centimeter) but we are about 100mm - 200mm lower, so again; someone's messed up there. Hopefully this will be resolved (or not need resolving) but I don't want to have to pay for retaining if it's now required. It's bugger all difference but it could mean that their fence is effectively 1.6m now, which is a bit low for my liking. I think this is my first gripe, so we're not going too badly! The only other issue is our own fault. We asked for a hobless shower in the ensuite, but the plans show a hob. It's tiny and our eye-for-detail is clearly lacking. We're going to see if we can remove it but it might be too late. Your recessed sills should be flushed with the floor? Doesn't look flush in the photos.... We are having recessed sills too and I will be keeping an eye to see that it's done properly.... Nice choice in the flooring and congrats on lock up! Love that void going to make it feel so open!! Nice choice for the floors too!! Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 46Mar 29, 2015 9:24 pm Hi Mixz0r, We are also building with Dale Alcock and have just been to our colour selection meeting. We have selected the exact same exterior colours as what you have and I'm still not certain about them.. Was just wondering if you could please post up some pics once your render is painted- it would be great to see all of the colours together on a house to hopefully stop me second guessing myself! Thanks Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 47Mar 29, 2015 9:53 pm We popped in on Friday at about 1pm hoping a tradie would be there to let us in, but alas; we were locked out. We were gutted too because so much had been done! We settled for two laps of the house, inspecting through the windows and attempting to get in. All internal doors had been hung, and bathroom, ensuite, kitchen and laundry cabinetry was complete. Tiles had been delivered too, so we're expecting our tiling meeting very soon. Hootie Your recessed sills should be flushed with the floor? Doesn't look flush in the photos.... According to DAH they are as they're meant to be. I can see that with floorboards they will be 'semi-recessed' as opposed to a standard doorway. But if we were tiling or putting in lino (not that anyone does the latter any more) they wouldn't be recessed at all. I think that 'semi-recessed' is all we were going to get, not full recessed like this. But the fact that one is lower than the other still demonstrates that there is an issue. I'll head out with my calipers when we meet the SS and see if he agrees. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it though - still beats a standard doorway. herbie1986 Was just wondering if you could please post up some pics once your render is painted Of course! Watch this space. I think we got the colours from the Long Island display. Might be worth a visit if you're unsure? Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 48Mar 30, 2015 11:56 am How frustrating about the sills.. will be interesting to see what your SS has to say. How quick did everything go in?!! Can't wait to see the photos Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 49Mar 30, 2015 12:51 pm jelbell55 How quick did everything go in?!! I know! We've been quite impressed with how quickly everything has been done. There really isn't much left for them to do; we're just locking in floors, air-con, window treatments and painting now. I think we're going to get this bad-boy too: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The Murchison from WA Fibreglass. Hoping that we can get away with 0.8m either side to allow for a 2.0m walkway through to the back yard. PM sent. Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 52Mar 30, 2015 8:54 pm I am very interested in the size and cost of that pool too if you don't mind sharing! We are planning on having ours pretty much like yours, coming off the alfresco! Love the look of that one. We got a quote for a 5x2.5 from aqua technics but finding it hard to know which is a good company to go through... Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 53Mar 30, 2015 9:34 pm PM sent Jelbell. This one is 2.85m x 7.0m which I think is perfect for what we want. I don't want to close off the back yard so the <3.0m width is great. Also keen for a second outdoor seating area in the corner, so I've got the pool up close to the house. I'm really happy with my design - I hope it actually looks something like that when it's finished! I think it's tough to pick an installer, all will have their issues along the way no doubt. We're just taking a 'plunge' and hoping for the best. Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 54Mar 30, 2015 11:12 pm Look who Karl & Sam found blogging on Homeone forum.....Mick you old dog! House is looking good buddy and moving along at a fair old pace! Wish our build was as quick and without so many cockups!! Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 55Mar 30, 2015 11:40 pm Haha! Reen found your thread today too. Better late than never, eh? Hope you got the tiling issue sorted? Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 56Mar 30, 2015 11:56 pm mixz0r Haha! Reen found your thread today too. Better late than never, eh? Hope you got the tiling issue sorted? I did do a build log on the Stockland Whiteman Edge Forum until they closed the whole site down So this build log will be pretty simple with mostly pictures, Q&A stuff and general venting if Dale Alcock screw up lol! Don't really know for sure about the tiling issues as we have been locked out for over a week. We had a good run for a while, usually a tradie would leave a door/window open by mistake. Will be nearly 8 weeks over by the time we have pre handover inspection (8th April) At least DH held up there end of the bargain and are paying us $$ for being late. Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 57Apr 07, 2015 2:47 pm So we've scheduled our Tiling meeting with the SS for this Thursday 09/04 - can't wait to see it all start to come together now! Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 58Apr 08, 2015 9:54 pm All the best for your meeting tomorrow! You are getting so close you must be so excited Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | LOCK UP! 59Apr 09, 2015 11:08 pm Thanks jelbell! All went well. Had lots of questions for the SS and it was good to discuss it all with a knowledgeable guy. It was good to finally get inside and grab a few snaps of the place too. Based on that our handover should be bang on 7 months from when earthworks began. That's what our sales guy estimated so we're pretty happy with that. Re: Dale Alcock | The Stoneleigh @ The Vines | TILING! 60Apr 10, 2015 9:20 pm Glad it went well and glad you have a really good SS!! Wow 7 months is amazing that is so close, I would be over the moon about that Love all your selections!! Your home looks so different with everything in. Bet you can't wait for the tiling to be done.
