Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 03, 2014 10:07 pm Hi all, we are trying to pick a sandstone cladding type for our dechellis build but unfortunately there is no display home or showroom where we can see the chipped edge or the rock face sandstone. We are just wondering if anyone has used chipped edge sandstone in their builds in particular a dechellis house. We want the sandstone front to be a feature but don't want to make such a big decision without seeing it first. Thanks very much (this thread was accidentally posted in the kitchen forum previously) Re: Chipped edge sandstone in adelaide 2Jul 03, 2014 10:32 pm Hi, I'm not sure what chipped edge sandstone looks like but we're going with a sandstone called Dressed Edge from Stone Craft Imports (Adelaide). Looks like this, http://postimg.org/image/uktdg1k6b/ Front of our house, http://postimg.org/image/6j7bn7z8f/ We are going with Paperbark for rendered quoins, doors etc. Re: Chipped edge sandstone in adelaide 3Jul 06, 2014 8:16 pm Hi frenchie, I think chipped edge is the same as dressed edge. Looks very similar from what I can tell at least. We were thinking classic cream render with either a basalt or woodland grey roof Re: Chipped edge sandstone in adelaide 4Jul 07, 2014 2:31 pm Hi Charlston01, Those colour combos would look great, always do:-) We're going for smooth rendered quoins in paperbark and roof in woodland grey. I'm trying to go for a slight contrast look, bringing out the dark and light from the sandstone. Classic cream always looks good though, so hopefully the paperbark does what I'm hoping;-) Here's our front. http://postimg.org/image/sxsg4qfwt/ get them to replace the chipped tiles.
