We are building with Simonds in Mt Barker. Our choices/house façade style are quite similar. I like the Nougat brick... I don't think it's yellow at all. We went with a sandy toned brick (PGH Archipelago) and I liked the warmth that it gave. Although under PGH's colour wheel it's classified as a 'Silver/Grey". You have the ability to be able to work with both choices and have them look great. I'd go with your gut, both would work well Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Metrion Lincoln 29 Adelaide Hills - External selections 3Jul 03, 2014 1:46 pm Welcome. I've got nougat on my house and it is quite grey. Occasionally in the sun it has a cream tone but its more grey than cream. I'll take a picture of my frontage this afternoon for you because apparently I don't have a good picture showing the bricks. Building the Leabrook with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, SA. Mount Barker is beautiful. We are renting in Mounter Barker and building in Meadows. Hopefully Metricon is as quick on site as Simomds. Ill be following your build. Hi Tasha, a photo would be fantastic, thank you. Did you use natural mortar as well? I like the creamy ones. I found it helpful to go to the display and see a whole wall of bricks. PGH have a great display at the top of Golden Grove. Good to know we are doing it right then, hehe Thank you. Shambini The Lincoln is very nice. Have you just signed your contract? Hi Shambini, yes we signed our contract, submitted plans to council on the 17th of June and just finished our all selection appointments this week. Looks like we signed up at the same time, can't wait to see your selections! TomCat They're both nice bricks. I like the creamy ones. I found it helpful to go to the display and see a whole wall of bricks. PGH have a great display at the top of Golden Grove. Hi TomCat, Are you building in Adelaide too? We have been to the PGH display and the bricks looked great on display it's just the sample at Studio M that threw us off. Re: Metrion Lincoln 29 Adelaide Hills - External selections 9Jul 03, 2014 10:48 pm Yes we are working to similar time lines. When are you planning on starting? We are looking at around October. Hopefully we make it to site in September. We have been given a 29 week build time which is much longer than we anticipated. Re: Metrion Lincoln 29 Adelaide Hills - External selections 11Jul 03, 2014 11:16 pm Yes L29, at Golden Grove. We've only just put down our deposit, so no action for us yet. I love the Lincoln. Saw it at Blackwood -- great layout Re: Metrion Lincoln 29 Adelaide Hills - External selections 12Jul 04, 2014 7:45 am lincoln29 Depends how we are held up in council, I've heard some reports of Mount Barker Council being a bit slow. Hopefully we make it to site in September. We have been given a 29 week build time which is much longer than we anticipated. Our plans are with burnside council and we have been told that it can take three months. Our build time for the phoenix 38 is 39 weeks. I asked M how they estimate build time and they said that it's based on the cost of the home. I used that with my wife. She wants the house built quickly so I argued that we should not install expensive taps!!! Mount Barker Council was pretty good for us, about 5 weeks for Planning approval then a few days with the private certifier, then a few days & we had Development approval and the build permit. The display in Blackwood is beautiful! Originally we were planning to build the slightly smaller Lancaster 25 and only went to Blackwood as the Lincoln has a similar layout but couldn't have loved in more. I did wonder how they determined those figures, it will be interesting so see how close we come to their estimation. Haha! I can't blame your wife there I'm on the hunt for a large mixer tap replace the standard kitchen mixer after handover. deluxes Meadows is a gorgeous spot and the house you are building is just lovely We have really adjusted well to living in the hills, it's a great place to be. It's easy to adjust living in the hills, it's so beautiful up this way and we have some the best cafes too, I think 5 weeks is really quick! Hopefully they are are still running on the same lead time and we get our planning approval back in the next couple of weeks. WA has a particular way of building and unfortunately that's the way a large amount of sills are finished. 3 7003 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11035 Thanks again Simeon for being so elaborate.
