Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 May 30, 2008 3:24 pm Hi
We are building a 2 storey house in Perth and wanting to know a cheap place for wood flooring, really like Tasmanian Oak.... We are more than likely going to build with APG but havent yet signed so any suggestions or warnings would be greatly appreciated? Thanks Re: Wood Flooring 4May 30, 2008 4:39 pm I guess it is kinda obvious.
Just as obvious as that a cheaper product is not necessarily good value. Not wanting to pick on you Matt. False economy is something I often see, and tend to jump on people that keep asking for 'cheap'. Having said that, taking a trip down south, and visiting some mills can be fun, and you might be able to buy mill direct if you know what you want. Ash. Yeah maybe thinking about Bamboo instead as we have alot of floor to cover so trying to keep cost down as much as possible without looking 'cheap' We want a light colour so maybe Bamboo in a sand colour could be an option? Gem (matts partner) Re: Wood Flooring 6Jun 02, 2008 1:51 am Good quality bamboo (the stranded type) isn't cheap, you can get some hardwoods for a similar price. I'm still stuck on what flooring to put down myself, a guy at work said he put in manufactured Kempas 10 years ago and even with young kids and a big dog it still looks good... We are tossing up between a Jarrahdale radiant wood fire (the Pioneer) and a convection wood fire (Innovator or Countryman) but cannot decide on which type of wood fire is… 0 5250 yeah i couldnt picture it issue either, but i could clearly picture what they were doing wrong haha 2 5294 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6191 |
