Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 03, 2014 10:05 am Quick question as to what everyone else's experience has been with Progress payments. Our slab was laid on June 16 and we are now at Frame/windows in stage, almost completed. We still haven't received an invoice for the base stage? Now, I know our address is correct, because I got a letter last week with our SS' contact details and how to arrange walk throughs at each stage completion, but no invoice? I know it seems strange that I want to be billed! But I kind of want to get the first one out of the way and done. Our first build, I was getting invoices before they'd even finished the stage, so this is new territory... Is this normal? I just don't want to deal with a rush on of invoices and the bank have a hissy fit (as they do) and ruin it all. I might ask my CRC... Its changed now, we get the infomation now but maybe its gone to the bank? tammy your welcome to follow our build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64842 Block cut - 15th February 2014 Re: Progress Payment query... 5Jul 03, 2014 11:30 am Good point Tammy! Rung the builder and they did have the current address but they decided to ring the accounts department and it was accounts that still had the original address we gave when we were still window shopping. Then we got 3 bills at once lol Re: Progress Payment query... 7Jul 03, 2014 12:23 pm Phoned the bank. Nope, not there... Good job I did, because they're missing the council approved plans. BUT I know for a fact they've been sent, because I was cc'd in on the email when Simonds sent them to them.... GRRR so they've lost it. Good job our CRC was straight on it just then and resent them to another email address that the bank said to send them to. So that problem is now hopefully sorted. I guess it's easier to discover that now, rather than a hold up with the payments and then having to send missing docs through. Slab invoice is coming, they apparently prepare photos to send you with it and those are being printed and organized currently. Mystery solved I guess! Happens with larger builders as theire in no rush most of the time. I paid Base and frame togethe rand fixing/lock up together instead of four seperate invoices. Ponzu sometimes the builder may delay in sending you invoices and will send you there in one go. Happens with larger builders as theire in no rush most of the time. I paid Base and frame togethe rand fixing/lock up together instead of four seperate invoices. Makes sense... It's interesting how different the procedure is for everyone. I got the slab payment bill, but haven't got the framework bill yet and that got finished weeks ago - our brickworks done now. I should probably chase it up. Forgot to ask the S/S today when I spoke with him. Re: Progress Payment query... 14Jul 04, 2014 4:36 pm Ari Just keep quiet! They'll work it out themselves. this is not a bad point - less interest to pay Creator of superduperonium, expert at expert things, nobel laureate, can hold my breath for 10 minutes. Re: Progress Payment query... 15Jul 04, 2014 4:45 pm That's why I have kept quiet this long... Good job I phoned the bank first, we had some misplaced docs (council approved plans) which would have held up any progress payments. That's thankfully sorted now. So, I'll await the invoice... It can take as long as it likes! Slowly after every payment the repayments go up!!!! There is no reason why building contract reconciliation cannot be done prior to handover, if the builder won't do it get someone to do it for you. Why would you pay for… 3 6691 2 7209 regardless, your contract stipulates a payments schedule and SOPA doesn't give provision to that scenario. Your contractual terms appear to stand.
