I can't remember the name of the tiles but I'll have a look and let you know. The oven I love.. It's all finished as of tomorrow.. The block was scraped today to and i was surprised they did all 2000sqm which I didn't expect but saved us ALOT by not having to get someone in to do it. Been wondering how its going. I checked out a Cleo outside Geelong on Monday ... It's stunning!!! I took photos. I'll post when I fire up he big 'puter How exciting!!!! Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 510Mar 05, 2015 5:44 pm Is your main bedroom like this Cleo? It had me stumped as it looks like they've reworked the WIR/ensuite etc around. Looks good ... especially the two skinny tall shutters from ensuite to bedroom. Is that you hanging up your blinds already??? 2. Did you have to cut some (we have to) and was it hard if you did? 3. Have you had handover???? Cox your carpets and tiles are done too. 4. Or did you get Simonds to do this for you (flooring etc)? OMG, all these questions! I had to number them, coz I want you to answer them all Your house looks fantastic! I picked very similar colour scheme to you (think we both took a bit of inspiration from Haydn's office -- the Bentleigh) Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 512Mar 09, 2015 8:55 pm Is that a 900 wide oven?? Looks fantastic! Love the blinds too!! Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 513Mar 09, 2015 11:06 pm Ok I'm back... Things have been VERY busy this end since we've had our keys!! Firstly I love our beautiful new home, it's everything I expected plus more. It's daunting being here alone at times because it's so big but I'll get used to it I'm sure. Our neighbours are all awesome & the neighbour hood is perfect. I'll start by answering your questions TC Our main bedroom isn't set up like that. It's got the ensuite one side and around the other corner is the walk in robe. It all is behind where our bed head sits against the wall if that makes sense? 1. Yes our blinds all went up before we moved in. I was dead against having paper or sheets lol. 2. Each and every blind was cut and made to size by ourselves. We saved so much money doing it & I couldn't be happier with the end result. 3. Yes handover is complete, it went SO QUICK! 4. No we had our own guys come in, who did an awesome job Charlston, thankyou! Yeah I believe it is, this was standard with simonds. Now for a few pictures.. Lots more to come but I need to buy more furniture, this place is HUGE! Our priority was fencing and decking so we could get our dogs over than mick flew back out to work for 4 weeks Now I'm off to catch up on everyone else's build. I feel like I've missed so much! I'm so thick, I didn't realise you had handover. Boy, that did go QUICK. And you don't muck around, you've done a lot! The Cleo Castle is gorgeous
The yellow and lime accents are lovely. Tis very exciting indeed. We've got similar wall colour, carpet (exact same as Bentleigh display) and the same blinds. You tiles look similar too. We originally were going to get Alto Taupe (is that what yours are ... Beaumonts porcelain)? But changed to the deeper 'mocha' colour. It really looks great. We have to cut quite a few of our blinds too. Do you mind telling me how you did that ... What kind of tool? Is there anything you learnt not to do when cutting? They look brittle and easy to 'rip' so any lessons learnt will be greatly appreciated. TIA PS I missed you Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 515Mar 10, 2015 11:15 pm Charlston01 Is that a 900 wide oven?? Looks fantastic! Love the blinds too!! Yes it's 900 - nice! I also love her blinds Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 516Mar 11, 2015 12:52 pm Thankyou!!! Our tiles are super hard to keep clean but oh well they look great. Can't remember the name of them though, I've since deleted fine details out my phone once I didn't need it anymore :/ We brought a wooden drop saw, took the panels out, taped them together either end than cut from each side, hung the frame and thread each panel back in. Than with the metal part we used a metal drop saw! Seriously allow days though it's VERY time consuming. They didn't split or chip though which was good. I think that's what the tool is called anyway haha. Once you start TC be prepared, I found we were so super rushed and unprepared once we got keys because it really did all go very fast. Mr TC has one of them (of course) but don't like the idea that it's time consuming I'll have to do them! Bah. He doesn't let me do stuff like that coz he reckons I don't do stuff like that well enough And thanks for the advice on preparation. I'll start planning early then. Like you, I don't want to move in until I've got my windows done OR the concrete. Lucky we're not under pressure about that, we can stay here as long as we want. Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 518Mar 11, 2015 11:19 pm And Mick is so clever ... that entry deck and fencing looks ace! He really got all that done quick I guess he has to get as much as he can before he goes back to site. Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 519Mar 12, 2015 12:13 am Yes it's very time consuming but they all fall apart very easily so it's better to spend the time first up & get it right the first time. I've been on the drop saw, excavator digging holes and helping drill timber onto support beams. Mick loves the fact i get involved & I even got steel cap boots now Next trip home will be laying grass & plants in the front yard so the front is complete. Can't wait for that as it means less DIRT!! It saved us big $$ by having all the timber delivered and doing it all ourselves and I love the fact our house looks different to others on the street with the gates etc. Once all the grass and plants go in hopefully it finishes it off nicely. Loving all your plans so far to, your house will be beautiful!! I wanted a safe lock that couldn't be messed with easily. 4 25705 1 3403 |
