Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 481Feb 03, 2015 10:17 pm Went bsck today and more has happened! Tilers completed (very happy) painters completed (extremely happy) front door varnished (pretty sure it's the wrong colour but I love it anyway) balustrade on balcony (wasn't what I was expecting but that's okay) kitchen cupboards & kick boards completed (love)! It seems all that's left to do is electrician & plumber than finish off facade. Tiler & carpet layer booked in for just after handover. Also sorting out with bank (who I work for) so we have a quick and easy handover on the day because if anything slows the process my partner leaves the very next day for a very long 4 week stint at work. My stress levels are at an all time high... And I don't stress out easily. Here's some pictures anyway Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71963&start=50#p1203154 Settlement: January 2014 Currently waiting council approval Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 482Feb 03, 2015 11:42 pm It's quick once they start hey? Can't believe we put our deposit down in July (land owned for two years, cashed up and ready to go) and we're still waiting to get out of the stalls! Once they get going, I'm sure that part is all a blur. Good job Cleo, absolutely marvellous. Is that dark grout on your laundry tiles? I like. I can't remember what colour grout I chose now. I hope it's not white! Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 483Feb 04, 2015 5:53 pm So quick, contract and pre site drags though so I totally feel your pain. Yeah dark grout thankfully as I forgot to lol. Plumbers were in today and let me have a quick look around Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The ensuit looks gorgeous with the double basin but there was a guy working in there so couldn't take a picture. That wall colour is the bomb and how cool that I chose very similar (didn't even know it) Good to see! Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 485Feb 04, 2015 8:14 pm Love the bath!! Drool!!! Oh and that front door and window surrounds!! Lovely work Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 486Feb 10, 2015 10:25 pm I'm back.. Been busy packing & getting everything ready for the big move in just 14 days. Can't believe it's here already and I'm totally unorganised. Oh well. Everything's being finished off on the house now and things are looking good. Not entirely sure what's going on with our facade but I'm just taking each day as it comes lol. It's a surprise I guess. Here's some pictures.. That's fantastic news! Two weeks! That has gone so quick. Just seems crazy ours hasn't even started (7.5 months in). We'll be moving in during winter now. Yuck. How about your front windows - WOW! Did you request them all fancy like? Just hoping we might get summat like that??? Lol don't think so - never even knew about them. Is your door black or a dark stain? And I just noticed your signature ... Waiting council approval haha Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 488Feb 11, 2015 8:54 pm Oh my goodness you are nearly there!! I'm super envious! Everything is looking shmick! Packing is awful, but at least this move you've been looking forward too! Good luck with finalising everything! TomCat - poor you. Waiting is rough. Hopefully you get to start soon! Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 489Feb 11, 2015 10:55 pm Your next TomCat, what an exciting time it will be. If it's winter make sure your concrete is ready to be poured day of key handover lol. Mud, Yuk! To be honest they were another nice surprise, we didn't ever pick window shapes for this build but I love every one of them especially the front. It's a dark stain.. They've painted it though and I liked it better before but oh well Your build is looking so good Charlston, it's made me realise how much more I would do different. I'm seriously so stressed out and quitting smoking (8 days free today) and it's really bad timing. I just can't wait to be settled in there and spend all my time decorating it with all our beautiful new things. So this brings me on to tonight.. Every day I head to our house I hope that a tradie has left a window open. Today I thought they did when my bathroom window was wide open. I stuck my head inside and heard a bunch of whispering and foot steps upstairs. Turns out three young kids had broken in and used it for their hang out area! Safe to say I made them leave and I'm just glad they didn't do any damage. I did however climb through that open window once I escorted them out Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71963&start=50#p1203154 Settlement: January 2014 Currently waiting council approval Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 490Feb 12, 2015 10:45 pm more shenanigans at the Cleo Castle! And again, you sort them straight out! I think you should arm yourself with a cattle prod before your next visit. Hey, your castle is kick**** gorgeous! Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 491Feb 14, 2015 9:53 pm It's always something TC! Haha Thankyou.. The balcony floor looks really good. Gotta be happy with that! Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 493Feb 15, 2015 9:57 am Looking great SimondsCleo! Love the double doors, and your huge back doors! I know, everyone says your first build is for learning, but you do things differently next time. I don't think there will be a next time for us, but I certainly would change a few things already. I wish we'd done our back doors the full length of the wall. It was pricey so we just upgraded the door type instead. Oh well. You're quitting smoking and building?! Wow! Congrats! That's a huge thing to take on. Good luck!! It sucks that there were kids inside. Good thing you kicked them out before they wrecked anything. Re: Building the Cleo two story with Simonds SA - Lock up 494Feb 22, 2015 10:41 pm Hi guys, Been super busy hence no updates. But everything is coming along perfectly. All set to move in next week.. I wanted a safe lock that couldn't be messed with easily. 4 25702 1 3403 |
