The courtyard next to bedroom 1 is going to be lovely too - and a shortcut to the kitchen for morning coffee Can't wait to see it progressing Re: Perth hills re-build 43Aug 11, 2014 10:39 am Thanks Natlyn, it's great to have positive feedback. You're right, there are similarities to the plans, theirs looks great! MalSannie, thank you, we need the extra space as 2 of our kids now have cars (although how I have kids old enough to drive is a mystery since I turned 29 again last year!) Hopefuly, hubby might pop across the courtyard to bring me coffee Re: Perth hills re-build 45Aug 12, 2014 5:18 pm Hi nofire - user Panraptor posted a very good explanation to another user asking the same question : http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?p=1202834#p1202834 Re: Perth hills re-build 46Aug 12, 2014 7:49 pm MalSannie Hi nofire - user Panraptor posted a very good explanation to another user asking the same question : http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?p=1202834#p1202834 Aw shucks! I'm happy to help nofire I am using tapatalk to upload my plan, but the quality is terrible compared to those I have seen on here. Can anyone advise how to upload a good picture? Feel free to PM me if you still need a hand Re: Perth hills re-build 47Aug 13, 2014 2:10 am Thanks Pan - didn't want to cut and paste, I might have infringed copyright laws What I might add as another 'quick help' (I'm sure it will probably be in that thread too) - it helps if you have your photos/pictures or whatever in electronic format already. Mostly these are sent around in pdf format. If you have windows 7 (not sure about win 8?) the easiest way to get a jpg version of it is to use the snipping tool - under Start, All programs, Accessories. It allows an easy screen grab facility Good luck! Re: Perth hills re-build 48Sep 02, 2014 8:41 am Hi nofire, how're things going? Hope everything is running smoothly for you! (lol at turning 29 last year, I've started counting my birthdays in hexadecimal - much much better! ) Re: Perth hills re-build 49Sep 02, 2014 8:44 am So slowly! Were meeting with the architect on Thursday to finalize the plan before it goes ti the shire for planning approval. we've also been getting quotes for the pool as we want to get that in before the build starts. hopefully I can post the plan on Friday Re: Perth hills re-build 50Sep 02, 2014 8:48 am Oh fantastic - any progress is good, and getting pool quotes are so exciting Looking forward to seeing your plans very much Re: Perth hills re-build 51Oct 25, 2014 7:56 pm Just thought I'd give an update on the lack of progress. Unfortunately and very sadly, our architect passed away suddenly last month while the builder was on holidays. Due to personal reasons, we have only just met up with our builder the other day who brought a new drafts person with him. We discussed the plan and she is going to get to work on finishing it straight away. Then our builder has told us his company has had to go into voluntary administration due to government contracts not being paid. He has given us a couple of options. He can either hand us over to a bigger building company like Ben Trager, or act as a consultant and organise our entire build with only a 10 to 12 % mark up instead of the usual 25 to 30. He is a local and sympathetic to our situation, and we think he is a completely sincere guy but must admit are a little concerned about doing it this way, but we do really need to get a move on with things as our rent is only covered til May. Any advice would be welcome. Re: Perth hills re-build 52Oct 25, 2014 8:10 pm Oh no fire what a terrible run you've had maybe a building broker might be the way to go like Perth Euro? <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Perth hills re-build 54Oct 26, 2014 12:48 pm Hi NoFire Gosh... sorry for your bad luck but I think its about to change. Am beginning to despair if we'll ever get to go home. I guess we'll have to keep meeting with builders to get quotes within our budget... Re: Perth hills re-build 60Nov 10, 2014 8:48 am Oh no, nofire, I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble getting a builder it must be so disheartening. I'll keep fingers crossed for you - I'm sure the right one will be out there! Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11035 Thanks again Simeon for being so elaborate. Appreciate it. Its gives us a very idea. Kind Regards 4 3666 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17598 |
