For the last few months I have being reading alot of topics and posts on this forum, so thank you all for giving me tips to get me started on my own home. I have decided to keep a running track of my build, seems to be a bit of fun and I enjoy hearing other peoples opinions and views so feel free. When I figure out how to post pictures I will . 3/2/2014 - Initial deposit to hold land (North facing block 14mx30m) 10/2/2014- Initial deposit with Burbank to hold current promotion (Cornell 2400) 12/3/2014 - Deposit for land 19/2/2014 - Changed my vehicle access side from eastern side to the west 4/4/2014 - Decided to change house plans to the Yale 2500 (no real dramas here, few more signatures) 5/6/2014 - Engineering drawings received 27/6/2014 - Colour Appointment at EDGE Re: Building Burbank Yale 2500 2Jun 26, 2014 5:07 pm Considered so far in my house and design I have opted for: - 4 room house (started with 3 bedrooms, decided 4 for investment value downt he track) - Garage situated on the north-west corner of the block to insulate house during summer - Changed house plans to widen the house on the block to have more backyard space (6m*14m) rather than (4*14m) and more room on one side and to get more sun in winter... The front will is facing North, Well its like north-northeast. Ive seen a couple of ads going out for "north facing" blocks and people getting swept up in it thinking "hey ive got a north facing block, awesome!" and then sticking a house on it that has a double garage and a master bed in the front - two areas that dont benefit from facing north.
