Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 25, 2014 6:08 pm Hi all, I have a query to anyone qualified to answer. We are building a zero lot boundary (our garage is up against fence or within a few hundred millimeters). We had just always assumed the fence would be temporarily taken down to do brickwork, however found today that the wall in question had the weather wrap removed and was bricked up from the inside. Thanks Re: Insulation weather wrap 2Jun 25, 2014 7:59 pm I'm no expert but my builder bricked from the inside and no wrap on our garage/boundary wall. Only thing is I think the cavity has to be minimum 30mm without sarking (but I'd have to check that measurement to be sure. The real issue is does this affect your thermal rating and was wrap included in your contract. Surely it would have been easier to pull the fence down, but I have seen it done this way a few times before. I would have thought removing and replacing plaster board would have been dearer than moving a fence. Maybe they had an un co-operative neighbour Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
