Building with Sekisui Newcastle NSW

Building with Sekisui our journey started last year upon buying a old house in our area to knock down and rebuild on 4th July2013 then we went on the journey to find a builder for our land and a house that would fit on our 15.24 mtr x 48 mtr block, being that width was always going to be a issue. We had been looking prior to buying and always love the Eden Brae and Metricon, the problem was that every time we found a design we liked they said we had to make it narrower, or go down to the size below and we didn't like that, we then stumbled upon Sekisui , the sales consultants were great and weren't at all pushy, they had time to talk and listened to what we wanted, they suggested the new range the arise collection and said that we should look maybe at the acacia, we fell for it straight away, it had every thing we wanted, principle suite at the rear of the house, a room down stairs for my 17 year old daughter with ensuite and walkin robe, alfresco and a big room for my son and his mates upstairs , every one had there own space. We have made a ton of changes to give it our own personal touch. So here is the dates and our journey

Hope you all enjoy this thread. Cheers
Its all happening plumber tomorrow, then concretors friday to finish forming up woohoo
Good luck, will be following your thread with interest.
Oh wow, from our stage to start building it took you 8 months
We potentially still have 8 months til we start building... !

Can you please post a pic of your plan? Would love to see the personal touches you made.
I'll also be following with interest... I'll be close behind I suspect...
Hey a few questions please: Did you do your statement of environmental effects or did they do it? If they did it, did they itemise it in your proposal? Was it $100? Did they pay your council fees (ie, is it included) or was that extra on top? Did you have to pay a Section 94 payment and if so how much was it? What colour scheme did you pick inside and out? If you have pictures I'd love to see.

Still a wee bit jealous you've got that house! I'm about to model it in CAD and put it on my block and dream... And maybe convince my husband it's a good idea.
Hi Catdunc, council fees included, i got them to do for the demolish of old house at the same time with house approval, they did statement of enviromental effects and yes it was $100 and what is a section 94 payment.?Cheers and dont be jealous the house you have picked looks awesome .
Plumbers did come today Thursday 26th June, and concretors tomorrow seems to be moving along well, aleast while we have the great weather.
Friday 27th June, Concretors arrived and finished forming up, waffle pods arrived and so did steel, hopefully should be poured on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Pndwater did photobucket work? I'd love to see photos! Very exciting.
Section 94 payment is a fee some councils put on some applications. I wasn't sure if we'd be charged one in Lake Macquarie or not.
Monday 30th June, concretors arrived waffle pods and steel layed, aiming for Thursday Concrete pour .
Exciting!!

Yes photos would be grand
Yhis is my blog spot, will try to put photos up of actual plan to date

Hi PnD, just wondering how your build is going? It must be coming along quite well by now! Please update us if you can.
Coming along very quickly, nearly all of outside done. See blog just posted some pics http://sekisuiacacia.blogspot.com/2014/ ... nning.html
It looks great!!! So glad to hear you're pleased with the progress.

I have a few questions please

Has there been many surprise costs that have appeared along the way?
How have you found your site supervisor? Have they let you on site?
Do you have a driveway quote? Is there any company you recommend?
Did you end up getting a credit for not needing as much peiring? Or any other credits along the way?
