Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 29, 2008 6:00 pm Hi,
We are having our final inspection at 1pm tomorrow and then doing the settlement procedure straight after. My problem is...l went by the house tonight and there are still yellow dots in the kitchen plus quite a few rendering issues that have not been rectified. There is also one major issue asthetic issue in our ensuite, but l wont go into that now. We HAVE to settle tomorrow (Friday) because we have already given notice on our rental property and have booked in flooring and carpet layers for Saturday and Sunday and then all sorts of trades from fencing, paving, wardrobes etc from next Monday onwards. l am so worried that once we make that final payment it is going to be difficult to get them to come back to rectify anything, but l have checked and we cannot withhold any of the final payment if we want to pick up the keys. l am so totally drained and tired of this building experience (and l think so far we have had a relatively smooth ride). Like the rest of you l just want to move! Anyway any idea on what we should do. Should we get the builder to draw up another "contract" with dates of when the outstanding items will be fixes? Any other ideas? Thanks, Re: Help...supposed to have settlement tomorrow 2May 29, 2008 6:19 pm My advice….. You’re NOT settling!

Any other ideas? Thanks, Leonda, have you been told the house will be ready for handover tomorrow? That is as opposed to just having the inspection??? With our inspection, i'll be waiting till 99% of things are fixed before we pay our money. We're also getting Kevin to do an inspection for us as well, so we are adding another week or two onto any estimates they give us just in case. I'd call your CSR first thing tomorrow or your contact in the handover dept. and discuss it with them...IF you have to accept as is, get everything in writing and have it signed by them as to the timelines req'd to rectify the issues. If you have any issues, please let me know, i'll put you in contact with someone at Henley who will be able to help you. Thanks mate. Yeah good points!
