I wanted red for ours, but the husband vetoed any bright colours so we got a mid-range grey I would have loved something bright Thanks Mellywil I wanted a nice silvery dark blue or a bright red colored glass splash back but the OH's favorite color is orange so I had to let him have something of his own and it would have been cheaper to have tiles. Also we thought tiles can be cleaned easier then glass because you can get streaks and all that but also you can easily remove tiles if you ever wanted them to change Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 243Feb 04, 2015 8:31 pm So the cladding has been installed but it's just a big sheet of fibre cement with divits..... I don't think it's finished yet. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They have also installed the shelving in the laundry linen cupboard. Not much space to reach in. Might have to get a custom made pull out cupboard instead later on. The bit above the garage door has been trimmed . The cavity slider doors have been installed too. We are very pleased with how quick they are going! Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 245Feb 04, 2015 8:44 pm s_mack Wow Cubs. Busy week so far! Yeah it has been a busy week, it looks like they really are on track to finishing it in about 5 weeks. Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 246Feb 05, 2015 7:47 am Great to hear your build is on track,it's looking awesome, your pantry does look a little narrow at the end, I'm sure you'll be able to get something from IKEA that you can slide in/out, I can't wait to see them finish off the inside of your house, I love following your progress, Julie Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 247Feb 05, 2015 8:09 am jul33m1 Great to hear your build is on track,it's looking awesome, your pantry does look a little narrow at the end, I'm sure you'll be able to get something from IKEA that you can slide in/out, I can't wait to see them finish off the inside of your house, I love following your progress, Julie Thanks Julie! I can't wait until the tiles and carpet goes down or the kitchen gets installed Yeah we were thinking of maybe ikea but my OH parents mentioned masters has a few ideas so we might have a visit this weekend. We really can't wait until they paint and do all the installation of the bathrooms and all that. One major thing I can't wait for is to see how the wooden like tiles look once laid oh and a roller door haha Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 248Feb 05, 2015 8:48 am Loads of progress! Is that pantry the standard design? It's a bit odd isn't it? I'm sure you'll find something that works for you in there though. Yeah it is standard design but when you look at the design it's deceiving on how big the gap between the wall and the shelving is Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 251Feb 05, 2015 10:26 am jul33m1 I'm looking forward to seeing your wooden look tiles, after I saw that you had selected them months ago, I went and had a look and selected them for our ensuite Oh wow nice glad we could give some inspiration it be nice to see what they would look like in a en suit so I can't wait for your pics haha Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 252Feb 05, 2015 10:30 am We're using the same wood look tiles for feature walls in the bathroom/ensuite/powder room - looks like they're popular! Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 255Feb 05, 2015 8:06 pm Yeah we are thinking of having the outdoor version for our alfresco after hand over. It will be interesting to see them I all different ways Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 256Feb 07, 2015 5:33 pm So nothing to report today looks like they have come back to just put very tiny holes in the roof where the lights go. Though I did cut down some grass but couldn't do it all due to the grass being littered with heaps of broken bricks and tiles and rubbish. Can't wait for a site clean. Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 257Feb 09, 2015 5:44 pm How does the house feel cubshome? Does it feel nice and spacious? Most people on H1 are building huge homes and there aren't many displays for a regular sized house so I thought I'd get a first hand experience since I'm no where near starting yet ️ Can't wait to walk through my house, yours is looking fantastic! Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 258Feb 09, 2015 6:25 pm ASH Jordan Springs How does the house feel cubshome? Does it feel nice and spacious? Most people on H1 are building huge homes and there aren't many displays for a regular sized house so I thought I'd get a first hand experience since I'm no where near starting yet ️ Can't wait to walk through my house, yours is looking fantastic! It feels great the hallway may be a tiny bit too crowded and could have its width widened a bit but still an alright size. The rest of the house does feel spacious actually. My OH'S parents have a fairly big multi level home and it's just too big for two people. I do like 2 story homes but when it comes to just two people living in it I think our size is a good size. I have also loved in units and stuff so I'm used to the kitchen, lounge room and dining in one big space To give some space between us and the front of the house (current house mates bedroom) we installed cavity slider doors and can block off a room and the main bedroom so that helps. I can't wait to see yours either! Shame you couldn't pop on over for a look! Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 259Feb 09, 2015 6:28 pm Oh and we had a call from the tiles and we are meeting him tomorrow morning to do the bathroom tiles can't wait!! I think the reason why we didn't see much progress from last Wednesday is because they have to wait roughly a week for the water proofing once installed so they had to wait to do the tiles. Hopefully this might mean buy this sat we may have fully tiled bathrooms, toilet and laundry which I think that let's them start to paint? Re: Building Newport 19 with Coral Homes in Saddlers Ridge 260Feb 09, 2015 6:30 pm That's great! It's so hard to gauge what it will feel like inside the house and the room sizes just by looking at plans and every display is a McMansion especially in sydney! Very excited to see when everything is installed at yours! They're rolling ahead! Hopefully more progress pics this week Lol very true! Would be great to be able to see everyone's builds in the flesh not just a pic on my iPad lol!! Hopefully mine runs as smoothly as yours ️ Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14270 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4377 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 76419 |
