Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 17, 2014 7:16 am i All, I'm building my house at Craigieburn highlands estate. Henley quoted me $16,000 for the site cost, I think this price is fairly high, Instead of the fixed site price is it wise to go ahead with variable site cost? Please advise how much would be the normal site cost and rock removal rates at Highlands estate if you have built your first home? After the soil test, i have been asked to upgrade the slab to H2 and what would be the minimum cost for the upgrade? Thank you. Re: Site cost at highland estate, craigieburn 2Jun 17, 2014 11:21 am Hi 1st_hme, $16,000 sounds about right. We got quoted close to 16k too for a H2 Waffle slab through Porter Davis. (Building in Mickleham) Yes, if you go variable you might save 1k or 2k however they can also hit a massive amount of rock and the site costs could blow out by 10k more than quoted. I have heard of many cases like this. We too were surprised when we got quoted 15k but after much research we found that it wasn't a bad price at all when compared to other builds. The safest way is to go Fixed site costs IMHO. My plot is a new development so hopefully I won't have too much problem during build as everyone should be roughly building together. I also… 2 3373 Approvals are covered in the cost we are paying to the pool company. The only thing stated in our home build contract for the additional cost is engineering support. … 3 7121 |
