Getting blinds installed tomorrow morning - and it shall look more like a house. No signs of driveway yet - 3 weeks late from planned date so far.. Hi singalg How did the PCI go? Also are you getting your driveway through W? spk_homebuild, PCI went well with mostly being minor cleaning/paint patch issues (they have all been addressed on Saturday morning). 2 big ticket items were missing a powerpoint and semi-frameless shower in ensuite instead of frameless. I am going to speak to SS tomorrow to figure a plan for these 2. GlO Wisdom use a different company to excavate pools to who they use for benching. We had our pool excavated after benching Exc 25/10 Slab 16/11 Frames 12/12-29/1 Bricks still not started Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13546Dec 02, 2018 10:06 pm Hi All, We just noticed something on detailed plans which we had overlooked. We have a 510step in the house which means the front ceilings are 3.2 and the rear kitchen/dining/lounge is 2.7m. If you look at the side view, the ceiling heigh is the same the whole way through the house. Walking through the hallway, stepping up into the kitchen, will that feel like your walking into a smaller room? Thinking we maybe should add a square set to hide the ceiling from the hallway to kitchen? No they did the pool first then benching. We’ve decided to do some last minute retaining walls in the back so that work is starting now as well. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Well it will feel like you are walking into smaller room because you are. Luckily for us, we have it the other way around so mine steps down 510mm so my living areas have 3.2m high ceilings and it gives it a much more grand feeling. I would recommend square set cornices anyway throughout the house as it makes a big difference in giving the house a much more modern look. One advice for those who are doing their own tiling after handover. I'd recommend checking the heights of your windows. My floor was raised about 40mm due to sand/cement screeding+tile and so my skirting over hangs the window opening. Just a bit of a pain to try to fix up the skirting, but something you can avoid during the planning process. I think thinking of adding a fake ceiling.. See in red below.. Anyone else got any suggestions? Agree with Doosra, maybe square set ceiling (or shadow line -we have shadowline throughout and it makes the ceiling look even taller), do you have a picture of the full grandfloor plan? Would a coffered ceiling help in that area? We already have square set ceiling throughout the house. We have a coffered ceiling in the entry but can't in the hallway due to the layout. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Another question, how far down do your square set's come in the 3.2 areas? It looks like ours come down quite far due to the height. No idea if that's normal. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13554Dec 03, 2018 6:09 pm ![]() Do you have a void over any part of the rear of the house?
