Just found out yesterday that cold water point to washing machine is from the rain water tank. Its too late now to change unless i agree to pay the admin fee of $1000 plus cost of actual change.
Whats the point of washing clothes with dirty water? No one ever mentioned this to us before signing the contract.
Any ideas?

It says on our developer guidelines that rain water is to be used for toilets and washing machines. It only says toilets on our construction plans though.
What do your construction plans say?
I requested BASIX report from my CSO. Rain water tank connection to toilets and washing machine is a BASIX requirement.
But looks like we can request another connection from mains water, but it has to be in addition to the rain water connection.

There's "BASIX NOTES" on page 8 of my plans.
Don't they have to be connected to mains anyway, as a back up?[/quote]The rain water tank itself is connected to mains water so if rain water isnt available water can be drawn from mains supply.
But ront think its available as a manual control for us to switch.
