We added the 10mm underlay also. M52 Is the 10mm underlay $8/m? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 9844Mar 18, 2018 10:10 pm Hi guys, Opinions needed please!!! Last week we had to re-pick our porch & alfresco tiles, as our original choice had been discontinued. This is what we chose...see first pic. On Sat we went out to our house to find our porch & alfresco have been tiled...see second/third pics. Do you think they are the same tile??? FWIW I like dark, I think it looks better with the chiffon brick than our light grey ones. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 9847Mar 18, 2018 10:59 pm Hey All, Went over today and noticed our garage door was much more darker and looked a little better than last week. Seemed like they painted / stained after install. Lets see how it all comes together once driveway and landscape is done. Thanks for all your suggestions. Sales estimate we signed off was for 34 weeks. Is this normal? Are they just trying to be conservative? An extra 10 weeks of rent is a hell of a lot of upgrades... Where are you both building? So I called Wisdom and they confirm there is no error in the soil removal quote. we are leaving it to be done externally hence. However, we asked them to remove it as we have a contact that removes for 400+GST (look up Jack soil removal on gumtree) You can do similar hopefully. We are getting the bare minimum so rest can be done over a couple of weekends DIY project. Building Ambassador 36 - Wisdom Homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 9854Mar 19, 2018 9:11 am Thank you for the info, we have that clause too however whopping $ 1300 / truck load for any etc. Very expensive!! We are planning the same, DIY is the way to go once the land is prepped. We got our slab on 26th Feb...no frames yet. No contact from our SS either so you’re progressing much more efficiently than us! We were a full 3 weeks from scrape to slab too so that was much quicker but might be they use different contractors in different areas. Also once land is scrapped, slab company has 7 working days as deadline (from wisdom - weather permits) to finish the pour. I highly doubt they have different companies as the more the order the cheaper the price!
I would say keep your SS in check, my SS will call me (& doosra - you are correct next is drain and electrical lines and connection which will happen this week) next this Friday even though there is no much update for this week & next. I have a previous wisdom customer who insist on keeping the SS on check to make sure you are top of their list always. Meeting SS on site now and then also helps. We met our SS last week before the slab went in & he gave us a good run down of process and procedures. With the frames - it is 3-6 weeks to finish framing but it depend upon how many labours are on site and the size of the house. Again outsourced by Wisdom so SS do not have ctrl over how many people would be on site. Their SLA (lets call it SLA ) is 6 weeks. Good to see some action happening aaron2008 Not sure if same practices apply now (given Wisdom's workflow) but we were told that Wisdom use the same company for slabwork for all builds, and their timing comes down to the amount of work required at that time. We had site scrapped 8th Dec 2016 and slab not poured until 1st week of Feb 2017, so delays there even accounting for the Xmas/NY shutdown. Its more important that they laid it correctly and let it cure properly. Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
