I have issue in the bathroom vanities (upstairs only). I am building Manhattan 35. As you can see in the photos below I have plumbing sticking down below the floating vanity in between the base of the vanity and the floor. I was expecting all plumbing to be concealed within the vanity. I am trying to workout why the plumber did it this way. Curious as to what the outcome was as we too have the same issue and I only noticed it after reading your post. We have 4 floating vanities (these went up last week) and 2 of them have this issue where the plumbing is visible underneath the vanities. I have just left my SS a message to notify him of this issue. Lets see whats his response is. I hope it doesn’t delay us a lot Hello Everyone, I had a response from my SS regarding the issue of exposed plumbing under floating vanities. SS: “When the wastes are connected, a small false frame will be installed and then tiled” I will be meeting my SS next week to understand what he means by that. 2 out of 4 vanities have plumbing that’s visible underneath and it is going through the floor while the other 2 have plumbing through the wall and nothing is visible underneath. Not sure why they have done it differently. Has anyone else had this issue? Not sure if I am worrying for nothing Hi I just got this exposed plumbing under floating vanities issue resolved yesterday. A very good outcome. Wisdom said they will fix it so that everything is as per the bathroom drawings. We did discuss about introducing a small false wall frame but wisdom decided just to adjust the upper floor beam framing to work around the plumbing. Hope this helps Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10483Apr 19, 2018 3:43 pm SejaeD my 2 cents. This is a completely incorrect method to install floating vanities. they are supposed to have an S trap that runs through the wall. Have built heaps of these and never had the pipe work visible through the floor. google" installing floating vanities" and you wont see floor wastes The difficulty with having floating vanities is when it is at the edge of the building of edge of a stair void as there is usually an edge beam. The plumbing usually cant penetrate through edge beam and hence sometimes a thicker wall is built at this location to hide the plumbing or constructing a local false wall. In some circumstances, a structural beam prevents the floor pipe from penetrating through the beam itself. In these cases, we create a small false wall to conceal the vanity waste pipe. It is tiled over and blends in. However, as psur2357 has noted, sometimes we can find an alternative workaround. If you're not happy with the false wall solution, feel free to send me a direct message with your details and I wll arrange for your SS and ACM to call you to see if there are some alternative options in your case. I think it would be great if the SS points this out to the client during the plumbing installation stage as a lot of clients may not be aware of this as we are all expecting the floating vanity as per the bathroom drawings without any false wall. In my case unfortunately my SS did not pick this up and did not even create a false wall as shown on the photos. But I am happy now that wisdom has resolved my issue by wanting to adjust the floor beams to work around the plumbing which is a very good outcome. regards Peter Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10487Apr 19, 2018 6:19 pm psur2357 Hi Mark (Wisdom Homes) Thanks for your reply. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10491Apr 19, 2018 9:28 pm Hi Everyone, I am finally embarking on my Wisdom Manhattan44Ens journey and have a question for all you Wisdom Home (soon to be or existing) owners regarding your landscaping. Grass in particular! Given that as a Wisdom customer, you obviously like quality and thats why i think this question is best suited in the Wisdom thread rather than a gardening one. What type of Grass are you all chosing / have chosen/ should have chosen? I am taking a liking to the Palmetto grass, but an keen to hear what you are all doing with your grass surrounding your wonderful Wisdom homes!!! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10492Apr 19, 2018 9:35 pm Grats everyone on your progress. After many delays I'm glad to say we have received our keys today. There are a few things which needs to be finalised, but its great that we're finally done. While we were at Wisdom head office, we asked for a tour of the Canvas Quarter, WoW the place is great and is massive. It's great that Wisdom has created this all in one place for selections. Everything is there, tiles, bathroom, kitchen, landscaping, electrical, they even have a home theatre. Kind of wished we're building right now. Great work Wisdom. Here's a few photo's from today. Congratulations! Be sure to show us how you put your finishing touches to it. All your choices look top class. I’m impressed your upper flooring is such a close match to your stairs. I’m also impressed with how spotless everything looks, I’d be stoked with that, after hearing about what a “builder’s clean” is usually like. What I meant was, what are some of the options to have no gap above overhead cupboards? There’ll be a bulkhead and/or dropped ceiling in the kitchen. I’m sure Timpelle would do taller cupboards for you or panelling if that’s what you wanted. Thanks, MandM. Going back old posts, I noticed you don’t have gap. Was this something you specifically asked for and had to pay extra for or did it just come like that?
