Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8081Oct 31, 2017 5:48 pm So I think we've finally submitted for CDC approval ! I say think because I'm waiting for the CSO to confirm but my CSO's manager who I have been escalating to and expressing my frustration called me just now to tell me that she's fairly confident it's done but thinks that my CSO may just be waiting for the PCA to confirm he has all the documents before letting me know. I'll know in the morning but I think I'm finally nearing the end. From here they said CDC approval should come back early next week and then construction plans and end panel should be done in 7 days of approval so I'm expecting this to complete out by 17th Nov which means we are going to cut it real fine for excavation before Xmas. Fingers crossed ! For those who have built, my build time is estimated at 36weeks but then I also need my pool in. How realistic do u think this is? I want to be in by Xmas and I think slab will go down in February. I'm building Manhattan 39. Will I make it? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8082Oct 31, 2017 9:54 pm gfernz So close to the finish line now! Looks great! R u having your walkthrough this week?? So exciting..... We have a few more weeks to go... had linen cupboard shelving, WIR fitouts, shower screens done last week. We have a/c unit and painting to be competed and then carpet... walkthrough still scheduled for the 15th nov. fingers crossed! Building Ambassador 36 - Wisdom Homes Walkthrough Thursday. (2 more sleeps lol) Still haven't had carpenters through for wir fitouts, they were meant to be through 2 weeks ago. Internally the additional tiling in the upstairs showers still need grouting and then we're done . SS said AC will be done between PCI and handover. Externally, Landscapers haven't started for driveway, letterbox, additional concreting and washing line. I don't see how they'll be started by Thursday, certainly won't be finished but we're pushing through anyway. Very exciting gfernz! majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8083Oct 31, 2017 9:57 pm MandM+4 BTW Rocchet and Jordann, I am so thankful for your blogs and weekly write ups, they’ve been so helpful for me trying to figure out our timelines and whether we are on track! So thanks! No problem. I have held off lately as I worry a bit about the security of it so close to the end of the build but I'll catch up once we're in. I had a few useful blogs I went to when I was at early stages so wanted to do the same for others. Love the helpful community we have xx majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8084Oct 31, 2017 10:00 pm BuildingMightBeFun MrsLlamas2016 ASJ1981 Hi guys Anyone put skylights and what are the costs? Also, ceiling fans... yay or nay? Im told they are a must by friends who have built! I didn't like them at first but now they are growing on me - Beacon Lighting have nice ones! Plus they are pretty practical! How much to get WH to make the holes? We also got an outdoor stainless steel fan installed by wisdom in our alfresco area. Only just finished landscaping so haven't really had the chance to use it yet! This is the only picture I can find on my phone.. We had this on our first tender as it was in the display home and we loved it. I guess you could add it at any stage? I think it was called cedar panelling to underside of alfresco? The only display also had it under the portico roof at the front but we decided against that as we had the timber door. We have made progress ourselves. We received council approval last week (after 8 weeks) and yesterday signed off our DEP. Our CSO has advised that she is aiming for our file to be released to production estimating on the 15 Nov. With this in mind we are hopeful of having a slab before Christmas. Is this doable? Expecting CDC approval by early next week and then draft end panel and construction plans in 7 days. then 4-6 weeks to site. I was advised to allow 4 weeks (6 weeks with a bank loan) once DA approval to move to production estimates. I believe that timeline isn't realistic considering you don't have approval as yet. I got an email with brochures for “classic” and “esp plus” but no costings next to them like I asked . Please help!! We just got the standard (classic) with 2 additional zones and honestly it works great and we are in a 40square house! It takes like 7 years of use (or something like that!)before you "break-even" bills wise vs unit cost of you upgrade. So depends on how long you think you'll be in the house. I DO recommend the wifi app controller though. So good being able to turn on the air con before I get home on a hot day (or in bed at night and turning it on and off without getting up!)
