So I have been stalking my council website to check on our Council Submission application and saw this morning it has been approved yesterday. Wow, 13 days in Council is pretty good, right! That was really 9 working days... Anyway, DEP should arrive in my inbox in the next few weeks... yay! I have been trying so very hard the last 2 weeks to not look at my plans for longer than 10mins because each time I do, I feel like changing something (insert rolling eyes emoji here) Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13342Nov 16, 2018 11:00 am ASJ1981 Hi everyone, TGIF! I remember you saying at one stage how you had an unpleasant time with your Council because of delays etc. Hope your build is going well! Hi ASJ1981 we actually got a call from our site supervisor today and our electricals and air conditioning went in this week. Next week we have the eaves carpenter coming back to do our lower eaves and cladding. Intend to post some pics but want to wait until all scaffolding has been removed. We submitted in late Sept! DA approval though. Manhattan52 that is fantastic news. Must be so good to see real physical progress! Another tip for new players: We forgot to get an alarm panel in our garage and only just realised. We are so disappointed that the Sentinel consultant did not prompt us about this as it's such a standard thing in every home with an internal garage! They are security specialists! We are annoyed at ourselves for not realising sooner. So frustrating, as we have picked up so many omissions/mistakes already, just generally with the build, it's so exhausted trying to anticipate these things. Anyway, to avoid an admin fee and further delays, they have suggested we order a separate remote before finish off, direct from Sentinel. Functionally, does this sound ok? Or should we lump the fees/delays and have a proper hardwired panel in the garage? Realistically, we will use the garage to enter/exit 99% of the time. The whole process can be overwhelming and things can easily be missed, especially if you don't know what you're looking for, if that makes sense! What does the alarm panel look like in the garage or what icon should it be on the Electrical Plan? This is what ours look like - is that the one you are referring to? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13354Nov 17, 2018 8:54 am ASJ1981 and champs2018 this is through Sentinel, not the electrical consultant. What exactly does your remote do? We don't seem to have anything regarding a garage remote on our electrical plan either. I'll check with our electrical consultant. I'll check with our electrical consultant. becks81 This is an additional remote to turn off the alarm when we get into the garage from out. If you turn on the security system when you step out and then when you return your alarm from garage would still trigger due to movement. So you use this remote to turn it off. We got it done through Sentinel. Electrical consultant must consider these options and add it to electrical plan. Our plan does not show sentinel upgrades yet..So not sure if we are still early in the stage and if this is done later in the submission plan. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13356Nov 17, 2018 9:02 am On that note, can anyone who has just finished their build comment on what the garage opener looks like and how it works? Do I need to raise a variation for a remote? I thought the automatic opening with remote was included. Great, this remote is what we will be getting but after finish off. I take it that it's a mountable remote which is separate to the garage opener? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13359Nov 17, 2018 9:08 am Is it unreasonable to expect that they should mention an internal garage alarm panel and the fact that is can be integrated with the garage opener at your alarm and security consult? I'm extremely annoyed as we're so close to the finish line with admin.
