Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13204Oct 24, 2018 9:24 pm niles I have been going through the thread for some time and trying to finalise things, I got quotes from 2 different builders and for a similar square home , My land is slightly sloping but NOT more than 1 m and need a 'H1' class slab. i got my siting back from both and one of them said i would need deepened edge beams for about half the length of my home that is to hold the dirt that is being filled from cut portion. While other said i would not need any beams just the cut and fill can take care of it even more the expected ground level of is almost same the difference is few centimeters Now i am confused which is the better build in terms of design and durability, cut and fill with or without deepened edge beams i am in similar situation what do you guys reckon? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13205Oct 25, 2018 4:14 am becks81 Bathroom mirrors: can anyone comment on how these are fixed to the walls? We want to change them to mirrored shaving cabinets at a later stage, like in a few years, would this be doable? From what I’ve seen they’re glued to the tiles. We have a couple of them being replaced and it’s likely they will be done after handover so if I’m around to see them replace them I’m will have a look at how they get the old one off the wall for you. If so we’ve also been slugged for it? Hi, we have 1.5mm grout to our wet areas. These incur additional labour costs. Depending on your grout colour, it may have additional costs also. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13218Oct 29, 2018 2:45 pm niles - I am 99% sure W quoted for drop edge. Its the right thing to do. Not an expert on the subject but did a bit of a research because we had cut and fill more than 1.5m. 1. One of the very strict council - Hills Shire allows cut and fill upto 1.5m, so I am guessing you will be alright without drop edge. 2. If you discuss this with your Sales person she will ask the back office expert to look at your plan from cut and fill point of view and offer you similar solution. I have read that this has happened before. 3. Every one building in NSW require an H1 slab because of the soil condition. 4. I would go for drop edge beams however in your case the cut n fill is less than 1m contact Sales and make an informed decision. Thanks aaron2008 , did bit of homework once i posted the question and did find Drop edge beam is the right thing, my concerns was the cost and why the difference between 2 builders. Will try to have a informed decision as you have suggested. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13220Oct 29, 2018 4:32 pm aaron2008 @niles - I am 99% sure W quoted for drop edge.
