Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 121Aug 11, 2014 7:48 pm Congrats Lunar! Good to see that something is happening. Make sure you pack food and drinks with you for the appointments You'll soon be entering the most horrible part of the admin process. After you sign off your selections at the suppliers they send you essentially the same thing to sign off in a month's time (and kitchen plans etc) which you have to sign again, you'll be signing variations and what seems to be countless copies of the same thing over and over, and then your prelim end-panel (which will be wrong) and construction plans and final final final end-panel. If you don't already have a scanner, buy one. I would've gone insane without a printer/scanner at home. FYI, we did our colours etc in Nov/Dec 2013 and the build only started in May/June this year. I'm still bitter about it, but pleased with how fast the build is going once it starts. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 122Aug 11, 2014 9:42 pm Aaargh Matt1 & kidsbuggingme! Pop - there burst my bubble! All joking apart, yes I realise that its only a small step forward but at least it's forward! At least it's an improvement on my week so far.... Was over in the UK for my father's 88th birthday - great holiday. Friday, as I descended into Sydney the person next to me vomited all over me - things can only get better!! I received an email saying the file has now moved from "Customer Service Admin" to "Production Estimating". Thanks Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 127Aug 20, 2014 5:06 pm 2 weeks after that email we had the excavation and 3 weeks after that we have pierings. 5/7 excavation 30/7 slab poured Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 128Aug 20, 2014 5:48 pm Extreme Does anyone have a list of timpelle upgrade prices?? Was there anything in particular you were interested in as I've got a few prices? Building a Wisdom Majestic 40 at Gardener's Ridge My blog: http://majestic40atgardenersridge.wordpress.com/ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 129Aug 20, 2014 9:35 pm Timpelle don't do a price list as such but here's some of our upgrade costs (Trinity 33): Upgrade laminate to Silk finish - $550 Upgrade laminate to polyurethane - $2500 Upgrade to 40mm Ceasarstone (Dulux colour) - $2200 Upgrade to 40mm Waterfall end, mitred edge - $870 Soft close to doors - $210 Hafele dual deep pull out bin soft close - $620 Grooved drainer to benchtop - $580 per side Then because we deleted the standard pantry the additional costs were: Additional cabinetry - $880 Additional 40mm Ceasarstone - $1200 Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 130Aug 27, 2014 6:04 pm Anyone about to start the process with WH, I can't stress enough the fact you really need to stay on top of admin. Check your plans more than once... the more the better! And make sure you do it each time a revision is made. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 136Sep 05, 2014 4:38 pm No we had to re sign our contract and renegotiated and due to some delays we had it revised Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 137Sep 05, 2014 5:01 pm Extreme Quick question: Has anyone here managed to start construction within the original 6 month tender period? No, but we signed our tender with unregistered land, knowing the small amount we'd be paying to lock in a 12 month contract would be a fraction of the updated prices. Our house has gone up by over $15000 in one year. Regardless, minus the wait for land registration, admin has taken more than 6 months. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 138Sep 05, 2014 6:04 pm Tbh I'm worried about it. Our land isn't yet registered, but we have our contour and bore hole reports. Sure I could pay an extra 3k and not worry about it, but tbh it's not our fault, wisdom's processes are so slow. Add in there it took them until our 4th lot of plans to iron out all the errors on their behalf. Let's face it, if they had more people working on their estimating and drafts teams, the processes would be a lot quicker.... We have no doubt they build quality homes, but their admin processes are frustrating. Why should we as customers be disadvantaged due to their own internal slow processes and policies??? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 139Sep 05, 2014 6:09 pm Same here, its been 10 months since we have signed the tender and they said they will do the excavation today but not sure whether it has happened or not. In the mean time we didn't have any price increase......so far. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 140Sep 05, 2014 6:10 pm Hi Extreme, if the delays are WH faults, they will extend your tender. We also were worried about this. However, our land was registered before our tender presentation. Also, all in all we had our CDC before the extended date. Also, they take into account the weeks they close over the Christmas break. Cheers Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
