Was a surprise to us too but since we’re covering it we haven’t queried this further. Perhaps you can ask a tiler to see if this has any potential impact for what you intend to lay. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12283Sep 04, 2018 2:24 pm champs2018 stevezau GLO Hi everyone! We finally have our colours appointment! Can everyone share what questions I need to prepare for the landscaping appointment? And any tips around the pool process would be awesome. Also, has anyone changed from the 90cm freestanding Gas cooktop to something else? Thanks! We are changing to induction in-built. It's not cheap. Think another 2-3k for induction then 1.3k for inbuilt. We are starting our appts tomorrow. Looks like we both are at same stage. We pushed our appointment to next week so we can consult other vendors for home theatre setup..we are getting the HT room on first floor, so can get the wiring done through external consultant as well. We are yet to decide on what to get done through Sentinel.. Network switch under the stairs. My understanding is everyone gets one colour for "free", then each additional colour is $600. So for example, I choose colour A for downstairs, that's my free colour, if this colour continues on the wall of the stairs that leads until it reaches upstairs, that's still the same colour, so no charge. Then colour B for the rest of upstairs, that's $600 and colour C for woodwork colour throughout the house is another $600, so a total of $1200. Is that how you calculate it? Should the wall on the side of the stairs be considered a feature wall since it's still the same colour as downstairs? I also don't understand why the woodwork is charged as an additional colour. Isn't the sheen different for woodwork compared to wall paint anyway so different paint has to be ordered even if you stick with one colour throughout the house? I thought it was just colour dependent, so if your "stair" wall colour is the same as downstairs, then there should be no extra charge. Where is your woodwork? Do you mean stain? I think this is treated differently to the wall paint. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12288Sep 04, 2018 4:35 pm becks81 One Some questions on the cost of additional paint colours. Our colours consult confirmed that architraves etc would attract a fee if we selected a different colour. We're happy with the same colour so it wasn't an issue for us. As an aside, if I want to go back and go through each room (over the phone) with someone and check what is standard inclusion vs what we need to upgrade, do you think our sale consultant is a good start? I feel anxious that there are other areas in the house that we have assumed will be as displayed. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12290Sep 04, 2018 8:16 pm Hi everyone, one question on insurance. With one colour, and particularly with our modern water-based paints, the painters can really rip into the house without having to worry too much about cutting in and masking; there's a big reduction, too, in brush and roller cleaning time/costs.. So, although $600 is a bit fat, it's not that fat an additional charge for a seperate colour, really. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12294Sep 04, 2018 9:08 pm becks81 Have you had your consults yet? Your bank will probably require your insurance certificate to release your cheque for handover. You can date it from the handover date. We changed some tiling after we got our first draft construction plans as we too were confused as to what was standard.
