I have been contacted by Di Lorenzo and advised that the bathroom floor tiles we selected are out of stock and have been offered he same tiles but different size. The original tiles were 20 X 20 cm and I have been offered 40 x 40cm with no additional cost. My concern is that the 40x40 cm will be too large for the smaller bathrooms, but to be honest I am not a tile expert and not sure if it will even be noticeable. Any opinions/advise would be appreciated. Bob Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14522Apr 18, 2019 9:37 am Bob the Bludger Hi All, I am looking for some help here. If no wall tiles take the 40x40 Hi, Yes we have all walls tiled in all bathrooms, although the tiles are not 40x40. I think maybe 20x40 rectangular tiles but dont have access to my selections right now. My concerns with changing the colours is outweighing my concerns over the tile sizes, so I am thinking of continuing with 40x40. Thanks Bob Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14526Apr 18, 2019 11:09 am Bob the Bludger Hi All, I am looking for some help here. Based on this forum I was concerned they would stagger the joins which was confirmed when I had the meeting but wasn’t mentioned in store at the beginning. Based on this we chose to have the feature wall horizontal but the other walls vertical which I’m very happy with. I am going 600 x 1200. I’m wondering if we need to do this too as I’m pretty sure we will have staggered joins too. I’m annoyed that we didn’t mitre our edges too but our costs were adding up when we were at colours. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14530Apr 18, 2019 1:51 pm becks81 - yeah just via our SS before tiling began. We paid extra to lower the laundry and powder room so also wanted to ensure the tiles flowed through downstairs. Really happy with the tiling but expensive. Also interesting that they just take the excess tiles with them as there was quite a bit left over (needed a forklift to load it in the truck) - given they charge by the m2, its another way to make additional margin I guess. And tastes change as you start looking at more tiles, houses etc. Else 40 x 40 =) Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14532Apr 18, 2019 8:16 pm jqcc0 @becks81 - yeah just via our SS before tiling began. They normally leave some of the spares behind in case you ever accidentally crack your tiles... They must have over ordered for yours? Yeah, perhaps they over ordered. I get it for the included range but for the cost of anything non standard you hope they are double checking measurements. I have the same but is $5250 Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14538Apr 20, 2019 1:33 pm stevezau Do you know what for/why? I know two others building down the road who don't have it. Would have to do with water tanks I would imagine. We wanted it on ours anyway being in the North Shore and the amount of trees it’s a necessity. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14540Apr 21, 2019 12:00 pm kks Has anyone in the whole-wide world actually produced a gutter guard that works in real-life? Fortunately i don't have trees within 50m of my new home, but i have seen a variety of gutter guards, including mesh, and more recently an brush which also stops leaf matter blocking the drain.
