This is standard. We went into wardrobe showrooms before signing contract to look at upgrade pricing and they warned us to delete all fittings if we wanted double hanging as the height would be wrong.
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10821May 17, 2018 4:11 pm psur2357 hi all, i found that the installed walk in robe top shelf is at 1.8 m above the floor. Apparently this is wisdom home standard when I checked with Stylish wardrobe who is doing the install. This is very strange as the industry standard is at 1.95 m so that we can have the top rod and bottom clothing rod. Has anyone had this issue before?? This is standard. That way we got exactly what we wanted and it was cheaper. majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10826May 18, 2018 9:11 pm Rocchet Chompy Rocchet
hi all, i found that the installed walk in robe top shelf is at 1.8 m above the floor.
In hindsight we should have done this too, left the master robe as an open room, but wardrobes were a bit of an afterthought for us. The included wardrobe rails have been fine for the kids as I just found chests of drawers that would fit however I couldn’t find any storage that worked for our master without removing what’s already there. It’s only costing us $850 to fit it out with 2 banks of 4 drawers with shelves over and 2 shoe shelves and hanging rails. Colourboard would cost a bit more I’m sure though, if I wanted it to look pretty. If you have 2590 ceilings and 2340 doors, the gap between the architrave and cornice is small and therefore easily shows up if either isn’t totally square. Not something you’d notice unless you’ve built the home but still something that bugs me- houses aren’t perfect, get square set ceilings and then it isn’t at all noticeable. Check your bath mixer is positioned so you can reach it when you’re in the bath. Get downlight provisions. Our lights were $13 each, look great and I put them in myself. They are THAT easy I didn’t even need to ask hubby ha ha. Position an aircon control panel in the area you will be cooling/heating most often, as it reads the temperature. Ours is in the hallway which is not part of the zone we use most often and therefore it just blasts out the heat continually in that zone rather than switching off when it gets hot enough. The standard appliances and showerheads are really good. Very glad we didn’t spend money upgrading them. We have 2.74m high ceilings on the ground floor and also got square set. I think the $990 definitely is worth it. However, we have the standard ceiling height for the first floor and sometimes i wonder whether we should have upgraded to the 2.59m. At the time, hubby and i decided not to - we are both NOT tall at all We got downlight provisions, but get 15 free as per the promo. Do we need to get EXACT same ones as Clipsal provides so it's all consistent or are they pretty much standard/look the same? Good point about the aircon control. Will have to remember that! Our Colours Consultant is pretty much ready to finalise our paperwork, however Ultra Air is keeping things at a standstill. Still waiting on documentation so i can sign off on them. Do they usually take awhile to get a Quote ready? I was worried it would be too much effort. I'm currently in CDC but able to update my electrical plan since I had plan changes so I'm re-looking at everything. I might change them to all provisions now to save some $$$. I did want to ask if anyone had some tips on the home theatre electrical set up? I've currently got the bullnose plates for the moutning, double power point and one data point. Would that suffice? Is it easy to put the wires through the bullnose plates? I'm worried because we have soundproofing it would be difficult to do the wires so considering adding HDMI cables although the are pricey as we'd need more than one! Any advice would be much appreciated. We have standard ceilings upstairs and it’s totally fine. Our upstairs looks pretty basic compared to downstairs, but I don’t regret that. The downlights we bought are a bit different to the Clipsal ones, actually they look better lol, but it’s not something people would really notice. We just made sure they were switchable like the Clipsal ones as we have them all on the daylight setting at the moment but may want to change them in the future.
I’ll see if I can dig out my tender with the credit price. Although it wasn’t much from memory. No kitchen guys dont do shelving. Cupboard fitouts and shelving including the pantry shelving are done by a different company. We didn’t ask about changing height of the shelves as we wanted to do a complete design and fitout ourselves with shelving, drawers, shoe holders etc... so was always going to be cheaper afterwards (and easy) I’m sure they can do it if requested. Just keep in mind the need to raise any cupboard door heights (that aren’t walkins) to ensure access to top shelves. We forgot with one wardrobe but our installer designed a narrower top shelf so we could still get things up there. majestic35.weebly.com Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE.
