I have just received my hydraulic plans and have been allocated two 5000 litre tanks which will take up a sizable portion of my backyard. Thanks, Bob Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 7803Oct 14, 2017 5:18 pm I think it's charcoal. I know that I asked for it at colours and it's not an option. What are the flooring choices like at Di Lorenzo for the Luxury package ($25m2)? Are they decent ones? My consultant thinks we will be able to find something nice from this range and probably wont need an upgrade or allowance to the Presitge range ($35m2). We have the Luxury range but have chosen some upgrades from the Prestige range (we picked and chose what was more important to us). Also, i hear a lot about this so called "Wish List" - did you find that you got a lot of freebies chucked in from your Wish List? Our friend is building with Eden Brae and had some of their Wish List items added in for free. Does WH do the same? Tiles, are you meaning main flooring or wet areas? We didn't go for a tiled main floor (opted for laminate instead) but our exterior tiles were from the standard range and we liked them. They are ceramic and 450x450. If you want bigger, or porcelain, you will need to upgrade. Wet area tiles- the standard are 20x20cm for the floor, anything bigger is an upgrade. We upgraded all our wet area floor tiles to porcelain tiles, got nicer mosaic tiles and more of them (standard is just one strip in the shower I think?), and most of our wet area wall tiles are the 300x600 which I think were a $35 per sqm tile and also additional laying size as bigger than 450mm. I think our wet area tiles were $9000 extra and we only have 3 walls tiles to full height. The Di Lorenzo extra laying charges are nuts, in hindsight I'm not sure it's worth going above the 450mm size. Our Tiling Allowance says "ceramic floor tiles"... we also want thinner grout (1.5mm) so i know this is will be an extra cost. For wet area tiles, we got the floor to ceiling tiling for bathroom, ensuite and powder room. Again, this is from the $25m2 range. So the standard range is 200x200? I just hope we can find something nice and decent from the $25m2 range as we have blown our budget already - haha! The way i see it, i am happy to compromise elsewhere, but not on flooring. The high ceilings of 2.74mm were $7500, which from reading older posts, is a lot more expensive now! But this was a must for us and we also extended the leisure room so that the roof is now in line with the alfresco roof. Then you actually have to find a tile you like that size at $25, which isn't easy! I didn't like any of them so we decided on nicer tiles rather than full height as we couldn't afford both. You are best to visit Di lorenzo if you can so you can see if you will need to budget for upgrades, but likely yes! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As a rough idea for main flooring I think to upgrade to a 600x600 porcelain rectified tile will set you back around $5000. The laminate was part of the wise choice promotion when we signed up, now live boldly but not sure if it still includes the laminate. It's preference oak leaf flooring usually worth about $70 per sqm. $7500 is about right for your ceiling height as you've raised it twice. It cost us about $4000 to raise ours to 2.59m. You will overtake us in no time since yours is a single storey 😊 Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 7817Oct 16, 2017 4:18 pm Hi, For those who have engaged a private building inspector and completed PCI/handover I know that we have a PCI and 13 week maintainenace period where we could pick up issues and get them rectified. I have the option of sending private inspector alone for the PCI and then I pick up issues during the 13 week maint period OR Do we do it the other way round ? Kindly advise Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 7818Oct 16, 2017 4:44 pm Dear all, We have finally made progress and signed the contracts !! Next step is the selections. As adviced by many here we have done a bit of our homework. So much more wrt kitchen is pending . One quick question at what stage do we contact a private inspector ? Is that helpful ? Also as part of the kitchen selections the rangehood , we wanted an integrated one instead of the freestanding one (mentioned in the tender by default) as we were advised by some of our friends that it is difficult to clean the free standing one esp if something percolates via the gaps. In my opinion we should not be charged extra for this. But has anyone done that during kitchen selections. Please feel free to PM me as well.
