Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8922Jan 21, 2018 4:37 pm Hello all Sorry I have been MIA lately, work has been crazy and with the xmas shutdown there wasnt much to update. Grats on everyone on your progress, I'll need to go back and read all the stuff I've missed. Work has finally resumed on our site this week with tiling done and all that's left is grouting of a few rooms. Once that's done I think painting is next? Not too sure at this stage cause our SS is still on leave, so will see what happens this week. Below is some photos of latest progress, won't spam the thread with all the photos but you can check it out on my blog. Also our Pre CDC check has required our house to be moved 500mm over so needs a resite and is all being done at the same time. the demolition co said it will take 2 weeks to complete the whole site as its fairly large and also have a concrete pool to remove - after that we have 2 massive gum trees over 50m that also have to be removed and of course we have to find somewhere else to live Maybe we will have the same site supervisor as we aren't too far from each other manhattan52, who knows if mine would also be mid-March! still waiting for DEP (revisions have taken a week a now already), and if there are any further errors in plans! (but i really hope not) 2 weeks is fairly long. is it the same AtoZ demolitions? mine will also be abt a week. Tenants moved out yesterday, atleast some action has started! That’s when I’ve organised mine for. I think they said 2 weeks because mine is a big block with a big house and a concrete pool to demolish. I also have about 800m2 of plants for them to get rid of and 4 car garage. Mine is also a battle axe block so they are using smaller machinery due to access. Our build seems to have picked up the pace too, just need cladding on outside and then on to internals. Also, looks like I had the same DL consultant as yours, as we were also recommended and going with black herringbone pattern, but on the whole wall. Happy Monday! We have our Tender Presentation today at Head Office. The CSR said if all ok, we can sign contract at the same time (any minor changes may be done on the spot). But who does that? Shouldn't we be going home, checking it over with a fine tooth comb before signing? 🤔 Do you usually wait for your drawings before signing as well? Any tips to make this experience less daunting today... lol?! jordann, awesome pics! Looks amazing so far! The tiles not lining up issue - you can't really tell anymore because of the white grout on the white tiles! So it all worked out ok! Btw, what's the link to your blog? I love reading blogs for the tips and ideas Thanks! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8930Jan 22, 2018 7:30 am ASJ1981 Morning! Happy Monday! We have our Tender Presentation today at Head Office. We had tender ptesentation then 3 months later had contract signing (they emailed me a copy of the contract b4 meeting to review) and we also had finalised drawings by time of contract signing. They seriously cant expect you to sign a contract without reviewing it and also on the same day as your tender presentation. The positive of doing so would potentially be to save so.e processing time in the admin progress, but that would only be the case if all documents were 100% correct (which we generally know doesnt happen first go). Oz Thanks @ozmonkey! Absolutely agree - we won't be signing today as i know i am making a few changes already. They didn't email a copy for us either to review so it's the first time we are seeing it today! Our consultant did say they have changed a few admin processes over the months - I'm assuming to be more efficient. But anyhow, we are going in there with my pages of spreadsheets and questions! I think what we can do is sign the Tender Acceptance and pay the 5k today? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8932Jan 22, 2018 7:41 am ASJ1981 ozmonkeyoy ASJ1981 Morning! Happy Monday! I think what we can do is sign the Tender Acceptance and pay the 5k today? Just remember its very difficult to take back something once you sign off on it. Be sure what you are signing. We tried to ensure that all changes/discussions were documented rather than verbally exchanged. I would email your presenter questions you have before the meeting but happy discuss themthere. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 8934Jan 22, 2018 7:55 am ASJ1981 Thanks @ozmonkey It's weird because i read contracts everyday as part of my job (commercial reinsurance contracts) but nothing makes me more nervous than when it's your OWN contract! Ah, you'll be fine then. A bit more on the line when its your contract, but you know what to look out for and to review thoroughly. Be excited, its a major step forward for you. Hi Aaron2008, Ours was a week between site scrape and slab pour, so it seems to happen pretty quick. Slab was done before Christmas and our first call from the SS happened when they reopened in January, so in our case we were contacted after the pour.
