Hi Aaron, We have grey tiles (standard range) with the darker upper cabinets (called domain I think?) Hope that helps! Hopefully looks good (although I'm sure still rough at the moment), but at least you get to see the size of it on your lot. You won't get the exact picture though til its all done with the house also there. If the spoil is outside of the your scrape and cut zone that W will do, then I see no reason why they will touch it. I would ensure that its as far away as possible to the pegged area and also tell W that you want the fill left there. Will there be leftover fill from the cut/scrape that W will do? I know on ours (and land is very flat), that they took away quite a lot of the leftover spoil. If you want any left onsite, just tell them (they'll be happy to leave it as long as its out of the way, saves them $$$. We will try and get the fill spread around a bit before we hand the site over so we can see if we need any extra. My husband is being his usual not in a hurry self, while I'm fretting that it'll somehow cause us problems lol. They have a storm water drain going in that goes diagonally across the yard so that's the only thing it may cause an issue with and I'm not sure if they'll scrape the land all the way because of that drain? I'll attach the storm water plan and a pic of our pool without concrete. I am happy with the colour. There'll be a waterfall on the fence side. We will probably get the remainder of the pool concrete done at the same time as driveway, a side path and shed slab...not going to get W to do the driveway, we have decided just to get them to prep the yard and maybe the back fence/retaining. We are now planning a deck next to alfresco and I think we will tile the whole pool area, not sure if we will DIY that or not. We've also decided not to pay NP's markup...their price for concrete is the same as W's. How are you heating your pool? We are thinking of getting a solar PV system on the house so I'm not sure whether to go a separate solar system for the pool or do a heat pump. Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes We are heating the pool via a gas heater. Because we also have a spa going in, it requires the gas heater. We may look at getting solar for the pool on at some point as well, just so the gas heater isn't running a lot (with gas pricing rising). We have a pool at current home, and the solar is enough for November to March (October also if its warm), but if you want to use the pool outside of this period, definitely will need a boost from a heater. We had the caeserstone benches delivered this morning, rear balcony rail installed, and tilers are still also hanging around. Good to see action still happening onsite. We are still waiting for some sort of update from W... no draft end panel as yet... So we are using this time to replace some palings in the rear fence and had a macadamia tree removed (with council permission) cause our middle daughter has a severe nut allergy. That was another battle with council. It would have been within 2 metres of our alfresco area and they said it must remain. A Dr certificate to verify our claims was all that was needed to change their minds. Your place is looking fabulous. I'm loving your tile selections and can't wait for the next lot of photos. So you are getting much closer to a construction start if selections are done and you're close to draft end panel. After all of the dramas, any expectations on construction start date, or you don't want to jinx yourself? We have an appointment with WL on Thursday, so am hoping to talk them into allowing us to have a sneek peek inside the house as well. Really hard to get any pics of anything once lockup happens. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 6795Jul 25, 2017 3:09 pm Thank You ozmonkeyoy & mrsllamas2016 Just ordered all possible samples from ceaserstone, laminex & polytec. We got our revised tender with floor plan last week. Been waiting for W to find a suitable alternative for the Rain Water Garden & RWT. Its been a month since registration of our land. Things that I found out all by myself 1. There is no overhead cabinets on Bulters as std 2. Aircon upgrade, we need a PA for that (at least in my budget) 3. We need to build a retaining wall as a part of landscaping 4. Portico is smaller than what we thought and we have to live with it now as change it would mean another 1.5 month of work I am hoping that W get back to us sooner with a plan & tender with no mistakes so we go for contract & appointments. The construction to start by Nov at least but it seems like a dream with the delays. We will definitely going for DA rather than CDC so fingers cross. It has been ages since I posted - partly because our epic journey that has been our build started to get me down, and also when I did jump on here to check what was going on I became totally overwhelmed by the hundreds of posts I had to catch up on! I am happy to say that I am now up to date on posts and really happy to see everyone's progress! And also a big welcome to the new members - wishing you all a stress free and speedy build! So a quick update of where we're at: we finally have a PCI date! Woohoo! 7th August, making it a a whopping 48 weeks since the start of construction!! Somehow, Wisdom has claimed 59 days (3 months!) of contract extension which means they won't back pay us. Has anyone asked for a breakdown of what is included in the days over? We really don't care at this point, we just want to get in. And I doubt they'd write 'incompetence' as a reason! Lol! Anyway, apart from the original issues we had with the incorrect facade plan being built, we also had tiles run out that took forever to source, incorrect placement of AC vents that needed to be moved and patched up, balcony rendered in the incorrect colour, stairs stained incorrectly, just to name a few. There is still work to be completed ie. carpet, caulking, etc. but we're getting there.
