With promises of the final revisions by tomorrow (hahaha sure Wisdom, you keep telling yourselves that). They want us to sign off on contract by Monday, then do all appointments post contract like their old process. Apparently we get high priority that way, I feel like I've heard that line before. So relieved that the fixes this time were seriously minor. The biggest issue being that my laundry window was shrunk to what I think may be the worlds tiniest window. So I'm deleting it so I can put in upper cabinets instead. We were already very 50/50 on it. So looks like all plumbing is done, now that need to continue formwork & install the waffle pods when the rain clears. Forgot to mention congrats on the start.... Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4923Mar 30, 2017 12:25 pm Yaaaay! Looks awesome! The concreters told me that the rain after slab poured makes no difference. It used to help but they told me that's not the case anymore. I highly doubt they will go any further til the rain clears up though Building Majestic 40 - wisdom homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4924Mar 30, 2017 12:29 pm Jenifermarie Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Happy days, we have 99% accurate plans. Thanks Mighty ant Supernatural - Bianco Drift we have customised our kitchen from standard as we wanted an island bench, and also pushed out the butlers, making the area a bit bigger. Does anyone know what the approx cost of upgrading the caeserstone to supernatural range... We get 40mm in the prestige package. I hear it's about 3-4K. Unable to get the approx costing from Timpelle until the actual appointment... It's kinda weird that they would not share the price range when we ask for it!! And considering that would be the criteria I want to know before committing... Any rough ideas guys??? Also the waterfall edges how much are they now?? Our upgrade to supernatural (London Grey) is costing us $3200 for the Ambassador including an extension to the island bench. If we had decided on a colour from the Deluxe range it would've been $750. We also got one 80mm waterfall edge, again in supernatural, for $1425. Deluxe would've been $1050. Hope that helps. Hey MsJovi - I'm going way back here but your upgrade to supernatural benches - was that for your whole kitchen? Did it include the butlers pantry? My countertop crisis of faith continues and now I'm contemplating if we should bite the bullet and go for a supernatural option. I know the Ambassador kitchen/butlers pantry footprint is really similar to ours in the Aspiration (we're kind of modelling ours around the current Ambassador at Oran Park). Hi Jenifermarie, the price above was to upgrade the kitchen bench top to supernatural. The butler's pantry was an extra $1500. So for the entire kitchen, butlers and waterfall edge it was about a $6K upgrade. Not sure if you're familiar with the Ambassador kitchen that was on display at The Ponds once upon a time (way back when we started this whole process!) but it also had a raised breakfast bar in 80mm. That was an extra $4200 . I look at it now and have no idea how we convinced ourselves to go with it! I always did say from the beginning though that the kitchen was one thing I wouldn't compromise on! I suggest you just get prices for a few options and then go from there. Knebel were really helpful with outlining all the upgrades really clearly, so we could take some time to think about them and tick which we wanted. You can do this for all your bathroom cabinetry too and have different options priced up. I'm really looking forward to finally getting to do our kitchen appointment now I know we can get quotes on different options then pick and chose what we can fit in the budget. I know exactly what I want for the kitchen (except counters), but then I have to see how much is left over for laundry and bathrooms. I'd love to change at least our ensuite vanity to drawers rather than cupboards if we can stretch to it. Our kitchen and dining space will be the bit we splash out most on. Im so looking forward to taking over hosting all my family for Christmas, birthdays etc when we're done. One of my biggest wishes was a dining space big enough to accomodate a 3m dining table. I never saw the ponds displays. They all shut down a few months before we started looking at displays. Hopefully your build will pick up soon and I can marvel at your kitchen Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4932Mar 31, 2017 3:18 pm We really did get our plan revisions back today. I was so shocked. They offer $15 a day by default. If we ask, then they increase it to $30 a day. It's ridiculous. And they don't budge. They justify this by saying they usually finish on time. I even asked, if they are confident they would finish on time, why not assure the customer by increasing the payment to $100 a day? They just smiled. So good luck with your negotiations. Hope you are better at it than me. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 4934Mar 31, 2017 3:43 pm ajayshekar Jenifermarie We really did get our plan revisions back today. I was so shocked. They always have the upper hand..... We already have about 1-1.5months in hand if our tender expires because when I total it up, it's taken just over 4 months, excluding Christmas, for them to get our plans finalised. I started complaining back in January about the delays and it was acknowledged our wait was longer than most. If we're late to construction it's through no fault of ours. The longest delay on our side was 3 days. I have generally been polite and pleasant through it all but it doesn't mean I won't fight if their delays mean we extend past the 12 month tender. We allowed plenty of time for everything. At this point we're really happy with the plans and the tender price so we want to keep everything else positive too. Our SC has been excellent through everything and I'm hoping we will have the same relationship with our admin person until we get to construction. Have they all ready extended your tender period by the extra 6 weeks that they can without going to management for the request prior to contract signing? If not, I would ask them to do that on the contract. Our Contract Team Leader did that automatically on the contract before we signed off on it, as we had similar delays. But if you have all ready negotiated for a 12 month tender period, they may not extend any further. Keeping everything positive and being polite and pleasant is certainly the key but its hard work to do so when there are frustrating delays. I'm sure that you've got it covered. I really appreciate the feedback Oz. It makes me feel a bit more confident going into negotiate on the contract. Don't get me wrong, there have been dark days. But I'm determined not to let it pile on more stress than is necessary. We haven't added the extra time to the contract but I will bring it up tomorrow. I don't have the energy to start reading it all tomorrow. Tonight I'm having a celebratory drink that our plans are right.
