Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13102Oct 20, 2018 2:15 pm SaveH2O Not sure what the proper installation should have looked like, but atleast the rain water tank looks much slimmer than what I have. I wish I had similar - but was not given a choice by W. When enquired, I was told that that's what was in the plan that was approved by council, and changing it will mean additional cost and delay by around 6 weeks. Something I am not happy about, but had to suck it up Maj-35 Tend:14/7/17,Cont:18/8/17,DA:9/1/18,DEP:1/2,Const:8/3, Slab: 28/3,Frames:17/4-23/4,Bricks:22/5-14/6,URoof: 29/6,elec:4/8,AC,GRoof:11/8,gyp:24/08,Keys:4/12,move:16/12 Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13103Oct 20, 2018 2:17 pm Priyasuresh11, I have gone with Empire blinds, for shutters, blinds and security doors - happy with service so far. I thought there might of been a slimmer one that we could get. What is the width on your one? I was told I couldnt fit mine on the side of our house, our side setbacks are 920mm. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13106Oct 20, 2018 3:04 pm singalg When enquired, I was told that that's what was in the plan that was approved by council, and changing it will mean additional cost and delay by around 6 weeks. I would have checked that with council. I would have thought that the retained volume was all that would concern council, not the shape of the tank unless offset to the boundary could also have been an issue. The substandard installation I have referred to has some very common isues that nearly all home owners are landed with unfortunately. The first flush diverter is fitted at the top of the wet system vertical riser. Wet systems retain water between rainfall, the first flush diverter will only fill with the settled water in the riser when it starts raining while the first flush will still be in the downpipe at the other end. There is no flap valve fitted to the wet system's discharge above the tank to prevent mosquito and other pest ingress but the pipe's current angle doesn't allow this anyway. The wet system will build up crud in the underground pipes if no leaf diverters are installed on the downpipe. Fitting leaf diverters also prevents mosquitoes accessing the standing water and breeding. From egg to adult mosquito takes about 12 days. Fitting an inspection cap at the bottom of the vertical riser allows some minor wet system flushing assistance, there isn't one fitted but maybe there is one fitted at the downpipe. Another area of concern is the tank's very low fitted outlet valve if it will supply an external pump. I suspect that a submersible pump will be installed but most submersible pumps that I see are installed incorrectly anyway. I hope that a Rainbank won't be used, there are better (and cheaper) choices. The installation is nevertheless compliant but compliance doesn't guarantee good design unfortunately. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13107Oct 20, 2018 3:38 pm For those in construction, may I ask what your construction timeline has been like in weeks? I’m at week 9, and they have completed bricks and roof. Our timeline as follows: Week 1 - excavation, fencing, piering & formwork Week 2 - slab pour, pipes & plumbing Week 3 - frame delivery Week 5 - frames completed, brick delivery Week 8 - roof completed Week 9 - bricks completed Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I’m really surprised at how quickly it’s building. My husband is so optimistic, he believes our home will be completed before the contract date. Lol Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13108Oct 20, 2018 4:10 pm @twolittlepeas, we also had a very quick and good construction period. Happy how it went throughout. It's only when the last items 'driveway, fencing, landscaping' were supposed to be started, RAIN started and has been continuing for 3 weeks in Sydney! Our house is ready inside, but what can be done with weather. Wisdom, however, is trying hard to progress even with the wet soil. I appreciate. We are very happy with our SS who finished almost everything ahead of time which is helping to cope up with the weather delay. We are 30 weeks from Slab now (not including public holidays and rain). Slab went on 19 March 2018. Hoping to get PCI date soon. I am optimistic to end my journey with Wisdom Homes as a happy customer. We were told in the nick of time that some of our tiles were discontinued and needed to be reselected. That cost us about 5-7 days as Di-Lorenzo never bothered to contact us before (which they could have easily done). All these minor delays are adding up . It’s been ok but now the weather is warming up it’s becoming a pain not being able to leave the doors open. Plus we have $2500’s worth of screens sitting useless in our garage.
