When you hear him speak though it is a bit like Manu from MKR is hosting The Block instead. too funny!!! I need to get on to driveway, fencing and window covering quotes in that case- our bank wants them even though we don't know what we want yet. We didn't need extra piering as we're having the shallow end closest to the house. This pic gives you a better idea of the placement. The pipes sticking out of the concrete are the little fountains that will be on the sunpod. And my kiddies waiting patiently in the future leisure room! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Quick Q, Oz might be able to answer also. When do you ask Wisdom for the sewer gully needed for the pool filter? We didn't realise we needed it until recently, I'm hoping I might be able to mention it at landscaping appointment or do it after the build. I actually didn't realise that the pool sand filter required flow into the sewer gully either until I met NP onsite to look over the area where we wanted the pool. Luckily for us its located close by (behind the house) where we intend to put the filter, so its worked out okay for us. I would be asking Wisdom to ensure its located in the area that you require it ASAP, as you know it takes them time to work out these things.Bringing it up in the appointments is definitely recommended if not before. Betterview blinds took about two weeks to come back to us with a quote. They acquired the plans off Wisdom direct, and we just sent them an email of what we required on each window/door. Better floors still waiting. Warrigal Blinds took about a month to come back to us. Just in addition to the above, I spoke to a plumber client today and they said its no biggie to install another sewer gully afterwards if builder won't put it near where you want, or if they charge a bomb to do it. They obviously would need to connect to sewer to do it, which depending upon where your pipes run could be easy or hassle. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 5035Apr 05, 2017 7:06 pm Chinoandbebe Hi all, for those that are in construction, did anyone get charged for 'additional' concrete piering? If so, what was the reason? I'm hoping we will not be hit with any extra site costs.... We didn't, but this is an interesting point. Our neighbours are building with mojo (and quite good friends of ours) and started before us. They day they started they got a call saying they needed to come out to the site as they hit rock and needed to pier further, and got charged an extra couple grand. We were obviously warned about the "rock" given that there is less than 2m between our houses. We started a month later and heard nothing of it. No extra charges. Not even a mention of Rock. I did some research and found our "standard" allowance for piering depth with wisdom was waaaay bigger than mojo and Mac jones. I've now heard about 5 people with mojo / Mac jones who got slugged with additional piering at the start of construction. I wouldn't expect you'll go over the standard. Where are you building again? Building Majestic 40 - wisdom homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 5036Apr 05, 2017 7:07 pm No I did have additional site costs between tender and contract for drop edge beams. My understanding is that (unlike other builders) wisdom have a set price on site costs. Unless others have had different experiences? majestic35.weebly.com Building with Wisdom Homes 5037Apr 05, 2017 7:21 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ FINALLY some more progress. And loving what you did with the main bathroom vanity, looks fantastic! Can't wait to see your place finished and cleaned up. Thank you! They are all standard tiles/cabinets and stone colours in our bathroom except for our niches/feature walls. (My disco tiles haha) but even then they weren't that expensive! The main bathroom idea was stolen from a display. It meant a slightly smaller upstairs rumpus to fit it (we lost the media alcove) and this was my husbands choosing. I didn't realise until pretty late down the line that this meant losing the freestanding bath as it didn't fit once we put the extra stone in.
