Still working through the unpacking etc. very happy with the place, few minor issues but nothing which can't wait until maintenance We couldn’t find bigger panels than 3.3kW so we decided to get Tesla batteries to store the electricity for night time use etc. also getting an electric car so hoping to still be self sufficient but not sure if it will work with both pool, aircon and EV charger. Where did you get your panels from? What size are they? House looks fantastic by the way! Well done! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14828Jul 03, 2019 10:42 am Its got 13.5 kWh storage capacity. Sorry I meant to type above that we couldn’t find panels with more than 330W / panel, our total solar capacity is 7.5kW but will add to this later. We paid $26K for 7.5 kW solar and 1 battery. Will add additional 5kW and battery after handover. Hope this helps. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14829Jul 03, 2019 10:53 am becks81 Manhattan52 @becks81 how are you going? bricks done?? Hi Becks81, our timelime seems almost the same although yours pretty fast as i had lots of delay. Bricks will be completed this week. Roof will be going on next week and then eaves next after that. Does anyone have indicative costs of this upgrade or alternatively the white attica in the mid range? We are also doing the waterfall edge on the kitchen island if that helps. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14832Jul 12, 2019 12:05 pm Hi All, We just had our lower level bricks done, but now been having some second thoughts on some kitchen selections. Thinking about changing the laminate to poly urethane and upgrading to undermount sink in pantry. Looking for some info like how much the admin fee would be for this change, trying to see if its worth the change now. Thanks manhattan52, we have selected we have polytec laminate with matt finish (highland cherry) for all. Seeing if we can upgrade to 2 tone i.e. below the cook top run to white white gloss with polytec / laminex (the most economical poly urethane look). Any idea on how much the variation for wisdom and timpelle going to be Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14835Jul 12, 2019 12:25 pm kingofnowhere Manhattan52 kingofnowhere Hi All, We just had our lower level bricks done, but now been having some second thoughts on some kitchen selections. There is a place at castle hill who will take your doors off and poly them for you and put them back on yo will get absolutely smashed with a variation fee and the 25% builders margin if you change now, when all Wisdom needs to do is send timpelle an email as builders will normally only put your cabinets into production 2-3 weeks before, installation. So unless they are already made, its just the time it takes to write a quick email Simeon McGovern Affordable Custom Homes, We design and build to your budget Ashington Homes www.ashingtonhomes.com.au Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14836Jul 12, 2019 12:29 pm kingofnowhere Manhattan52 kingofnowhere Hi All, We just had our lower level bricks done, but now been having some second thoughts on some kitchen selections. Any idea on how much the variation for wisdom and timpelle going to be I think Wisdom is either $1000 or $1500. Timpelle may not charge you and don’t know how much it would be but they do state that they can. However in my experience with them they are pretty good with changes. Because it’s a colour change may be ok however they may need redraw fee for your undernount sink cut out. Personally I would change now if that’s what you really want as you don’t want to be always thinking you wish you had changed it. However the Highland Cherry in Woodmatt is a lovely colour Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14837Jul 12, 2019 1:16 pm SejaeD it might be almost cheaper to do your doors yourself after handover. Thanks for the confidence boost on Woodland cherry selection Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14839Jul 12, 2019 6:25 pm Hi Guys, Trying to get my head around the required cabling for double storey (ambassador 36), its all confusing for me, not an expert. How many data points you have? I am thinking to future proof the house. How much is wisdom charging for extra data points than what they offer. Is it Hills Home Hub that wisdom installs? didnt read great reviews about it, and also it is hard to expand in future if you want to. Does wisdom allows to have our own cabling? by a licensed one? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Do lots of research. Wireless these days is pretty common for most applications and heaps of info on this forum. I still put one in each bedroom for kids studying, multiple at each point where there are tv's and entertainment consoles and multiple in home study for PC's and printers etc. Probably overkill but easy to do now than regret later. Also depends how tech savvy you are. Haven't heard of anyone doing own cabling and don't think Wisdom would allow as they are carrying the builder warranty.
