We were meant to have handover in February. Looks like we will definitely be missing that time which is disappointing. There were a few days rain. But quite a few days like every one else I am guessing where there is no one on site. From the SS previous update we should have 2 weeks left. Now this has been extended to 4 weeks before area manager inspection. So looking at March. It probably should have been sooner, since most landscaping we are doing post handover. It is not very clear when all the defects found by the inspector will be fixed. Almost there.
Did they tell you what all the delays were from? You started in 2016 right?
Like what others mention there's a lot of days where there just appears to not have much happening on site.
The update for us, is near the end, we have been told the area manager has changed. Not the best timing. The previous one seemed really good and helpful and knew the history of everything.
What has been troubling, is that we are worried about the handover between area managers. We hope that nothing has been missed.
What has been troubling, is that we have not been receiving updates on when the agreed defects would be fixed. Things picked up last year and this year from when the inspector was on site or from the Site Supervisor and the area manager. We do not get updates on the list of issues being fixed, and do not see them in the plan for being fixed in the next week.
I can’t tell if there is a genuine misunderstanding, or avoidance of giving an update on when the defects are going to be fixed. Especially after an email from the area manager, which did not answer any questions. In fact, it almost seemed to overlook the genuine issues raised that were promised to be fixed. I can't tell if it is now an excuse or tactic to avoid trying to address the historical issues they promised to fix. Everything seems fixable.
Another week has gone past. The new area manager just asked “Have you received an update to your email” raised last month. We replied “No”. We thought they appeared genuinely concerned we were not receiving an adequate response in a timely manner and they were trying to help.
Wisdom said the kitchen bench was meant to be installed back last year. Months later and it still has not happened.
The garage door was meant to be installed last year too. Still not delivered. It appears to be something that will happen each week since back in January. Some of it relies on weather. Was pretty good weather late last year.
We look forward to updates, just like everyone else, but it's a lot better when you can see when an issue is being addressed or planned to be addressed. Then you don't really have to worry about it being forgotten.
We try to be helpful and even point out issues where we can on electricals missing, or air conditioning vents missing back from last year. When we were on site with the SS and area manager it was apparently all meant to be fixed when the electricians were to return in January, nothing to be really worried about and likewise for the aircon company. So we have been waiting for an update for that. It’s pretty easy to see from the street that there’s only 8 cat 6 data points visible there instead of 17.
In the emails or updates, we can not see the defects being addressed in the weekly updates or planned in the upcoming week.
However there's some good news perhaps. The area manager check has now been scheduled in 3 weeks to the end of this month on the week starting the 23rd. So at least that seems to be locked in. So we are hoping everything is fixed before then.
I drove by today and noticed the brick work was finally patched after having issues from last year where we were promised the insulation would be replaced and fixed properly. This is months of exposure in the rain. The SS on site said they would replace the insulation and fix it properly. This made me pretty happy, and I felt he was across things. It's the details that matter. They also went through a list with me of the things they were going to fix. However, I just can not see this reflected in the weekly updates. They appeared to be working well with the flooring person on suggestions to make things look good.
Yes. We started in 2016!
I am really hoping that all the defects are being fixed, as we are obviously raising real concerns not receiving weekly updates on when they are being fixed. (from what we heard there are no structural issues, and most things are easy to fix), there was a big storm recently and water penetration coming in via a sliding door and the frame side ways several meters under the alfresco, however, they explained that it was because of the strong storm and they were going to replace the wood frames etc. So it's pretty positive they can spot issues and know what to do and what needs replacing.
We wonder if the issues are not mentioned in updates because there are so many things the SS has to look after or organise and what we consider to be issues, is something that is minor or cosmetic for them.
Not very happy at the moment unfortunately and a little anxious because of the lack of updates for when the issues are planned to be fixed in the next few weeks (not mentioned).
We are approaching the end. So fingers crossed, everything goes smoothly at PCI inspection and we can join the group of happy Wisdom owners.
