Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 15293Nov 18, 2019 5:57 pm Norfolk @Ambassador36 whichever inspector you use on your Wisdom Homes build make sure that the defects they identify are rectified at the appropriate stage by seeing for yourself. It is appropriate to delay progress payments for the stage if the work for that stage has not been completed to the required standard or to the contract plans. Be very careful when the site supervisor tells you things will be fixed “later”. In my experience, as well as the experiences of others, often things won’t be rectified! Covering defects up and waiting until it’s too late or impractical to fix them (ie when you are ready to move in). The site supervisor’s focus is to keep the projects moving with money coming in, and he may tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear to achieve this. Thanks Norfolk, we will def take this advice into consideration and be vigilant with getting any defects seen and resolved asap. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 15294Nov 21, 2019 5:34 am WisdomHomes I found a 5 star review of a recent Wisdom Homes build published in a popular social media consumer review forum last Tuesday by a verified reviewer called ’Ria’. Congratulations to the Wisdom Homes Sydney team for delivering such excellence in the build process. Here is the review as published:
”Highly recommended - good value, perfect build, ahead of time, and to an impeccable standard. Wisdom Homes provided very professional service from the first day walking through the showroom through each successful milestone Completion. Having formerly dealt with other builders, Wisdom Homes in comparison to the others were like night and day. Wisdom Homes is trusted, reliable, flexible, over-deliver, value for money, happy to assist you in all aspects of the build and give excellent suggestions. The finishing and workmanship was impeccable. They have a wide range of trendy luxurious designs and colour selections, at very good competitive prices. They are very good value for money being an award-winning, reputable builder with deep trade relationships and discounts which they have then passed on these discounts and benefits to the customer. Wisdom Homes made the experience Very smooth. Everyone we met with was extremely committed, helpful, delivered outstanding service, and experienced in their fields. I was very busy and couldn't visit the site regularly but I felt completely assured as I was kept in the loop each step of the way by their trusted team. Wisdom Homes provided constant update on all aspects of the build, including stage of the build, timeline and what trades are working on. The build was broken down into milestones with an expected timeline and the team met each of the milestones ahead of time. I highly recommend Wisdom Homes for first home owners looking for a peace of mind and smooth process, busy people or if you are building a home whilst living overseas or interstate. The Wisdom Homes team is extremely professional, excellent value for money whilst keeping the build within budget, providing build quality above and beyond the scope and expectation and delivering it ahead of timeline.” (Published on 19 November 2019) Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 15295Nov 21, 2019 6:35 am I just don't buy that it has come from Wisdom Homes. I suggest that publishing this cringe worthy advertising puffery on a review site was attempted reverse psychology designed to embarrass Wisdom Homes and cause damage to their brand. No advertising professional would be foolish enough to do this let alone have it approved for publication by responsible company officers. It is just too easily distinguishable as unacceptable advertising spiel to not raise suspicions of bad intent. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 15296Nov 21, 2019 8:10 am I just accepted the verified review by ‘Ria’ at its face value on the public review forum. I am not very experienced with such advertising techniques per se. I seek to give Wisdom Homes credit where credit is due as I feel a balanced approach here is important. Hi Buddy, Having been through the initial design phase with Wisdom ( I pulled out cause they couldnt get the any of their designs to work with my block) and also watching some of their builds, my impression is that Wisdom do run a pretty professional outfit. I also find it interesting that you almost never hear about any building horror stories, so my personal opinion is that these guys are one of the better builders going around ( in the project home sector). Happy to hear that Ria had such a good experience! The consequences of this mentioned in the Wisdom contract included delaying the build and legal claims for damages. This clause was deemed unfair by the ACCC and was removed voluntarily by Wisdom at their request in June 2018. Another reason I believe could be that those customers who have recently built, or are currently building with Wisdom may be somewhat apprehensive about making any negative comments on social media forums in case this may affect their relationships and ongoing build or warranty rectifications. Anyway it’s good to see such a positive outcome for Ria.Wisdom must be doing some things well. Too many shortcuts and cheap nasty trades. hey did you end up getting all your Metricon defects fixed? Simeon McGovern Affordable Custom Homes, We design and build to your budget Ashington Homes www.ashingtonhomes.com.au Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 15300Nov 21, 2019 9:30 am Yes, got most Metricon defects fixed before PCI.The extra cost was only $85,000 plus the family stress. Some things I just had to grin and accept as I didn’t want to spend more time and money with lawyers and at NCAT as well as waiting at home for tradesmen. There have been no nasty surprises since, touch wood. Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
