The gyprock has been completed, the stairs are in, cabinetry is in, water proofing has been done and tiling should have started this week. I can’t speak highly enough of our SS, he’s always on tops of what happening and our building has been running so smoothly as a result. That’s incredible! I wonder why our contract is 44 weeks Our contract is 34 weeks but I Can’t imagine it taking that long, when so much has been done already Wow your SS must really be on the ball. Everyone is going to want your SS now!!! We’re 20 weeks since excavation and have just got our gyprock and our build has been pretty smooth running. We had only just finished bricks at 15 weeks! We did not realise how the variations would work given the questions we asked at estimation were met with “You can just change that at your consult”. All that we want is to remove the WIP door but apparently this is impossible. If we did, then the package is deleted and the kitchen is requoted as a new and custom kitchen. I don’t know how laminate paneling works but I don’t understand how this is impossible but the change the width of the drawers or to change the style of cabinet door is ok. I will discuss this with our CSR but I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this? We are in week 15 from Slab, and have just got the upper roof in (its a 30 week contract). The progress seems to be much slower from what it should have been. First, we had 4 weeks delay in Bricks, 1 week delay in upper roof, 3 days delay in Eaves, and all these delays at every stage are adding up. Those who have completed pci/builds - would you mind sharing some insights on how long did it take for you from roof to PCI, or may be from Slab to PCI - what stage were you in each quarter ? Also, the people whose builds have taken longer from what is in contract - does the build term on contract hold no value? is it not binding in any shape or form? Thanks for your replies. During kitchen consult, we were told this is not possible, and the item was deleted and requoted. I was not fully convinced, and still not convinced with how it will look like as the description provided on quote was quite ambiguous. I ended up accepting it as that time hoping it turns out ok. That’s incredible! I wonder why our contract is 44 weeks 🤔 Yep that is record pace. Seems like a well organised SS where everything has fallen into place nicely and where there have been no onsite issues. Hopefully the trades are also doing a great job on the actual build. Only issue we have had was that wisdom, ourselves and even council missed that we when changed our facade we ended up with a brick wall in front of a window on the side of the house up stairs. Once the frame went SS picked it up and had it changed for us Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11452Jul 04, 2018 8:17 pm msjovi Rendering is not included as part of the facade upgrades but you can add this on at an extra charge. You can change the cladding to brick but we decided to get this rendered instead. Changing the rear of the first floor from cladding to blue board and render is costing us $1750. That sounds really interesting. How did it turn out? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11453Jul 04, 2018 8:59 pm alce4463 Hi All, Very excited to share our progress. We changed the whole house to brick face. We hadn’t budgeted for rendering but our designer suggested we should to break up the uniform look by rendering, now we would like to see if we could stretch our budget to do it during build or post handover. Wisdoms renderers although expensive do a pretty good job. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11455Jul 04, 2018 10:50 pm amf139 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ A quick pic of our build. Singalg, my kitchen layout is the same as in the Oran Park display. Maybe it could be because I am building the same size house whereas your's is smaller? Our SS is fab! He’s picked up on several things that are a result of errors in drafting and made a few other suggestions for finishes around the inaccessible balcony on the first floor. I can’t fault him. I am still disappointed in Admin, they continue to avoid my emails (I won’t publicly name any specific person or department but I wonder how they can still have a job! How are your lintel issues Oz? The variations in everyone’s build times my view is based on the SS. We are on our 2nd SS and there is a country mile between the two. We are blessed to have changed as the first SS left WH. I feel the delays in our build was due to him. I have highlighted on this forum previously and to head of construction at WH that the level of support that SS receive needs to be reviewed. At the end of the day our experience and view of WH is based on quality of build and that rests with the SS. On a side note, I think that if thats the duration in the contract, atleast you know at the time of signing that that's how long it may be, in the worst case (I truly hope it finishes much faster though). yeah, my price may be different due to a smaller size.
