We were credited $4600 for a Majestic 35 We're doing a built in media unit with Wisdom in our leisure area 3.5m long cost 3k. We opted for just cupboards with the 2 centre doors having a glass panel. If we had put in draws it would have increased the price a lot We just told our kitchen consultant we had 3k for the media unit and she made one work to our budget. We also added the pantry doors in lamiwood (Nuance Finish) $1240 panelling is very expensive so we're going to paint the wall were the pantry doors are in a colour to match the lamiwood. hope this helps Sorry to sound dumb, but did I read this correctly? A pair of laminate doors in the walk in pantry costing $1240? I thought laminates were cheap... Hey One, Yes that's correct, we did put the textured finish on them too which made it more expensive Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10715May 08, 2018 4:54 pm Rossi Mish018 What ever time frame WH give you, double it. We are 10 months from our tender presentation and still waiting to get out of Council. Stuck there as WiH will not send us through amended plans one requirement council has requested. We were told we would be on site by February when we first got our tender. They hadn’t even lodged the DA by then! Thanks Mish018 definitely not giving me any confidence to choose them. We don’t need a DA, we can go with a CDC but it just surprises me at how inefficient the front admin must be running. I hope you get your DA soon. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10716May 08, 2018 7:44 pm Kazi DaniK Has anyone got photos of the Pgh truffle bricks? They've started laying mine today just want to see more pics of the final product What is your mortar color? Do you mind to post photos if you have any? However, I found the brick in these photos of a display house (not Wisdom Homes) is also PGH Truffle if it helps. But I remind you, the brick looks very different with different mortar color. I have visited one house of Truffle brick with Off White mortar which looks a bit brownish from distance. I have attached some photos below from last week. We had scaffolding for second floor put up yesterday and brickies were back today. I wanted to stop and take some more photos but I already look like a bit of a stalker lol Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10717May 08, 2018 7:53 pm Rossi Hi all, I have been looking at this forum for a few months which has been super helpful. We have chosen 2 builders (1 is Wisdom) for our KDRB are waiting Tender Presentation. Just wondering how long it has taken everyone to get to Tender Presentation and what timing to expect post the Presentation if we choose to sign a contract with Wisdom. We paid our deposit back in January and still awaiting our Presentation. It super frustrating and we are now doubting Wisdom and their ability to keep to timeframes. Meanwhile the 2nd builder we have brought off the backbench and they are preparing a Tender Presentation as we speak within 3 weeks - and we already have a date set. Thanks! Hi From what I have seen on this forum and others is that even though Wisdoms admin process may take a bit longer their builds are quicker and a lot more organised and better quality than others. Beware of companies that are quick with their tender and promise the world because they are the ones that have a lot of errors during their build and also sloppy workmanship. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10718May 08, 2018 10:19 pm Hi All, I have been following this forum for a while and finding everyone’s comments helpful as well being able to relate to most with regards to administration and building issues with Wisdom. when we went through admin the time frames given by Wisdom are no where near the actual time it will take. And to be honest you need to double any timeline given to you in admin and to what we are currently experiencing in construction. We are 16 weeks into our contracted build period of 30 weeks. Currently still only have approximately 1/3 of the brick work completed. Mind you the bricks have been on site now for close to 10 weeks. In the 16 weeks of construction our site has had no action for approximately 8 of those 16 weeks. The SS, when he bothers to give us an update, says the same excuse every time, the brickies are delayed, on another job etc. We realise that because they certainly aren’t at our site. He also said that he couldn’t possibly build our house in 30 weeks, we are looking at 40 weeks. I reminded him of the contract build period that we signed and to that he said he was aware but it isn’t possible. Be wary of the promised contract build period, as in our case there is no way the promised 30 weeks will be achieved even with the dry weather conditions we are experiencing. At the rate we are going I am even doubting we will be at lock-up at the 30 week mark. It is a case of over promise then under deliver. Bricking was our most stressful stage of the build. Although most builds with wisdom do seem to have good construction timelines. (I know not necessarily what you want to hear if you’re one of the exceptions with a slow build) If you have a look at some Metricon and coral threads there are lots of people a year into construction and still going! We love our home. If we ever built again I’d go with wisdom in a heartbeat. Hopefully once you’re enjoying your beautiful new home the stress of the build will melt away. Hope things speed up for you. majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10720May 09, 2018 7:47 am Morning all, We are struggling with door choices. We’ve upgraded our internal laundry and powder to the HLR280’s but are unsure what to do upstairs. We don’t want the 280’s as they’ll stream light through to the bedrooms so were thinking about going for the HLR250’s to all bedroom openings and bathrooms, leaving the robes as standard. Has anyone upgraded upstairs doors from white to wood? Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
