Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10202Apr 04, 2018 7:55 pm Chinoandbebe It's a shame some tradies are just useless. I had a little giggle over your 'Close enough?' photo. Why even bother putting on the skirting if it's not the correct length. Your front door frame does seem a little crooked. And I don't think they should've tiled where the weep holes are. Is that on your alfresco? The weep holes is on the balcony. It’s thousands more than you’d expect.
So true! I've already gone back and forth over other little things. I know I shouldn't feel bad about it... I can see they added a landing but I know we definitely won't need one because of space. I want to ask nicely for a requote or at least for them to recheck their pricing haha!
Don’t feel bad at all. Your paying for it so make sure you get what you want. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10205Apr 04, 2018 9:40 pm You will spend the next 12 months in admin! Welcome - There is lots of great info here and everyone is happy to share Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10209Apr 04, 2018 9:59 pm Ha ha hopefully not 12 months after contract! Should be 4-6 months... The process has all changed since we went though our appointments. They were the fun part of admin, mostly. Just get everything you could possibly want in the one colours variation if you can, as every variation takes another couple of weeks....and expect to spend more than you thought lol Generally we found the admin process better from contracts as our CSO was efficient and her email communication was good. Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10211Apr 04, 2018 10:06 pm @ MandM+4 haha. We are 6 months from contract signing and don’t have site costs or plans at the moment. Plans came back yesterday after a month in drafting for the third time and came back with errors so back they have gone! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10212Apr 04, 2018 10:21 pm One How do you choose stairs? Is there a website with the options? Designer stairs in Prestons are the supplier. They have a small showroom. You can have an appointment or just tell the colour consultant what you want Building Monte Carlo 40- Wisdom homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10213Apr 04, 2018 10:25 pm MandM+4 One How do you choose stairs? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10214Apr 04, 2018 10:41 pm Jordann Jenifermarie Ugh I’m so sorry to hear this Jordann. So disappointing to see so many small mistakes that haven’t been fixed when you picked them up ages ago. Have they sent your PCI invoice yet? Building Wisdom Aspiration 31 at Willowdale https://ourwillowdalehome.wordpress.com/ We do have the invoice but since we don't have the interim occupancy certificate, cannot submit to our bank for processing. You should claim liquidated damages. I know it’s not much but it would help pay the mortgage and might kick them in to gear. You must be well over contract now considering you started about 10 weeks before we did! For maple and glass balusters, they are quoting just under 8k. This seems extremely high to me. We are only building The Washington. Is this normal? Lol... someone here said they only paid about $3900 for theirs. What does the standard stairs look like?! I didn't even ask about the standard /quote] We’re paying $4780 for our stairs for glass and a mitred maple balustrade (no stain, no sawtooth capping). Ours only involves 3 panes of glass. Does anyone know what the standard staircase looks like? What's important is that our handrail is mitred lol. Both of my quotes are mitred maple balustrade.. Our last house had a timber staircase that was about 10 years old and the treads were worn and awful so we decided carpet was cheaper to replace to keep looking nice over the years. I thought that's what they looked like! We are probably going with carpet as well. I don't have little kids anymore but the three of them still stomp their feet! Were not allowing shoes in the house so hoping that this keeps the timber stairs as neat as possible. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10219Apr 05, 2018 7:21 am MandM+4 Mitred handrail is $1000 maybe? We just got mitred handrail and sawtooth capping, which was just under $3k Thank you! I definitely want the mitred handrail. Was that in clear finish? If I don't get my glass panels (I'm still determined to! Haha) I at least want black balusters - the flat ones. This will be fun trying to explain this to my CSR.
