No huge issues, just the normal requirements.
Multiple paint touch ups, bit of cabinetry reworks, brick paint touch ups and cleaning, window cleaning, and then security/window screens.
Handover hopeful to be 27th Sept.
No juice on the carpet join in the MB though, apparently now we (customers) need to discuss during appointments with Di L where carpet joins may occur and advise where we do not want them. We were not advised of this by Di L in our appointment, so others be aware.
We had a few positive wins in other areas with the SS during the build, so still happy overall and would still recommend W to others.
My parting thought is if you want everything to be perfect, then you certainly need to build custom. W do deliver a higher end "Volume build" finish, but we also pay for this. Custom build you are more involved along the way, and generally know who your tradies are. I think the biggest problem that W is facing at the moment is inconsistent finishes with tradies - they are needing to use new tradies as supply becomes available, and this is causing different finishes in each and every build - hard for the SS's to get that consistent finish - they have a tough gig!!!
Sorry, no pics available. Took us 2hrs to walk through and no real chances to take any snaps. The laminate floors (apart from the carpet) are all still protected so cannot see them at present. The stain on the stairs you can tell only have the two coats, and we may have to sand and do another after handover (or more likely will be to sit back and relax for a little in the new home)
Hope everyone else's build is moving along with no huge dramas.
Oz.
Glad PCI went well, I absolutely agree with your comments. We have also found that although the build is of a good quality, there were some things that we knew we had to make do with as far as finishes here and there. Most of those we will only notice as anything obvious will be fixed. We are supposed to have handover this Friday but are yet to get this confirmed by our SS who didn't seem very optimistic last Friday (we are getting the driveway done by W as well). I will reserve any further judgment until handover!
Hi VandM
So is handover happening for you tomorrow? If not, whats the holdup? WL re driveway or other?
We have had next to no activity on our block this week, so I'm hopeful that they get cracking next week otherwise our handover date will also be pushed back again.
Hopefully the small things that aren't fixed will blend in over time, or you can try and fix yourself once you have possession. Its a shame that not everything can be perfect, but that's the reality of it.
We did have NP over to look at the site today, and they appear to be ready to go with the pool straight after the long weekend. Now its a matter of becoming a mini project manager and lining up the trades which is a huge effort itself.
Good luck with the handover.
Oz
Make sure you post some pics of your pool while it is happening. I will do the same. Agonising at the moment over outside tiling colours, types etc. Have you selected tiling/paving around the pool yet?
